It was so lovely to be away overnight!
My friend is a really good friend and it was great to sit and chat! We watched crap films and drank and ate pizza!
I popped to the supermarket and bought myself a plant, I also rescued a plant my friend was binning and spent some time this afternoon repotting them both which was good, I feel like me.......
I haven't EVER had budgets............I basically pay rent, savings, Christmas, insurance, petrol and the rest of my money is for Everything else...........I mean I guess I have some budgets....but I tend to buy things on a whim (bags, rabbits......:) ) and I just wondered what people spend on clothes.
I had a big clear out about 3 years ago, covid happened and there was no shopping! I have one black skirt. I bought a few dresses but they aren't really suitable for the new business work regime... I need new clothes.........So how much do I spend - percentage wise?

I find clothes budget a difficult one because it tends to be big chunks of money and then nothing for ages. YNAB tells me I've spent £1400 in just over the last year, but that includes a new winter coat (both presentable and warm enough for dog walking), two pairs of boots, and replacing pretty much all my underwear and nightwear, after spending very little the previous couple of years due to pandemic and moving. It sounds a lot but I am fussy and only buy stuff I really like and that will last.It might be simpler to work out what you need and set yourself a budget for that?Debt free May 2016... I know I spend far too much on clothes but a few years ago when I was feeling particularly low for quite a long time I didn’t buy anything new and I had put on weight so none of my clothes fitted, I ended up wearing whatever fit and felt comfortable and often felt a real mess, and I felt worthless and was heavily in debt so couldn’t have spent on myself even if I wanted to.
The last year or so as I have been feeling better mentally I have bought a lot, most of it from vinted which I can’t recommend enough, and I find I feel better when I have made an effort to look better.
Everyone is different of course but even though I don’t have much spare money I try not to feel guilty about buying something new if I really love or need it.
I probably spend about 10% of my earnings on clothes, shoes, makeup, hair etc x4 -
We are all different.I would rather have less clothes but nice ones.Doesn’t always work out like that though!
