Me again, try Hairy Bikers veggie recipes, designed for meat eaters.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Why not make a shepherd less pie, lots of veg, whatever you fancy, cooked up with a gravy or cheese sauce and then topped with mash and served with peas.  I use onions, carrots, celery, beetroot, parsnips, sweet potato, squash, a tin of mixed bean or baked beans if you prefer....
Could I freeze it? So I could make  or buy a meat one for mum, then make that for me and do two meals......
Yes, it will last in the fridge for 4/5 days easily but freeze in portions and cook until piping hot in the middle or defrost during the day and cook until mash has browned.
  • Thanks everyone, I was reading an article about eating less meat and how good it is for you. Mum won't obviously but I would like to. We had pasta with mushrooms, courgettes and cheese sauce. I loved it and mum ate it so that was good.

I spent 14.49 in Sainsburys - food (mainly for guinea pig) but I did buy face cream as I nearly out (3,50, instead of six quid and dry skin, also one for mum and she will pay me back) and six quid in M and S also on food for mum. Forgot to get petrol which means I will have to get it tomorrow. Next NSD will be Tuesday I hope.

    Nevertheless she persisted.

Maybe don't tell your mum that you're eating less meat buffy... just try some new recipes and if she queries it just say you felt like trying something new.

  • Try goodlife spicy beanburgers buffy and their spinach and mushroom kievs (both in freezer section, though the bean burgers are better).  Add some strong grated cheese on top of the burgers and nandos perinaise (in the mayo section of supermarket).  Divine.  They also do nut burgers but am not too keen on those.

Trying new recipes sounds tasty. Love the idea of you having the same veggies and different main. I often do that with dh as I don’t do spices and he loves it. So I’ll do pasta, rice or potato and we have different home made ready meal…..which I freeze in batches 👍

  • Disaster has struck in the Buffy household!

We have run out of the special dog treats they get when they eat all their dinner. I will need to go to sainsburys AGAIN. Heck I also need petrol and should buy lunch for stinky stinky stinky work for the week. got to do more than survive on biscuits.

Plus the rabbit insurance renewal is 424 pounds, very nice man on the phone but the system wouldn't let me pay. That means i need to ring tomorrow. UGH.

I really want to clean my room, haven't been able to get started - well I did yesterday but that was just tidying up the Christmas of it all.
    Still need to do washing!

One good thing, I shifted and cleaned the rabbits out yesterday, FOUR bags of rubbish!! I basically swept up a lot of dirt! My pair are much happier in a less cluttered space. The foster buns have dug a burrow so they are fine and small bun is a mare but that is normal. I do love my pair, the boy comes and bumps his nose all round my legs every day and is so pleased to see me.

Also should go to the tip......

    Right

    1. tip
    2. shopping
    3. room and roast dinner I foolishly agreed to cook!

  • Took 9 bags to the tip - 6 from the rabbits over the two weeks and three from the leak ruined stuff in the conservatory.
Shopping - 2 quiches for lunch, penguins (the biscuits not more pets Jellytotts!), crisps, bananas, 2 rolls of wrapping paper for Mum, Bread.

Doing the dinner, got distracted by the FOOD in the kitchen and have been decluttering that instead. I don't mean eating all of it, give me time, I just mean reorganising it, working out what to use and when, I have a meal plan. Need to put more milk in the fridge.

Need to finish up, eat dinner and then do more washing.
    Nevertheless she persisted.
