"Unfortunately the land owners were not too helpful and did not assist in cancelling the fee. they mentioned that their own staff members had been fined as well."

What are the landowners thinking of in employing this company?

You have not given any details of the parking transgression and where it took place. Don't mention who was driving.

Excel and VCS (owned by the same director) are a very litigous company and are likely to instigate court proceedings. They are though sloppy with their paperwork and beatable at court. See Troubled42's recent post.

"Is going to court and purely arguing the unlawful £60 alone worth a case?"

Certain courts will strike out the claim on the £60.00 add on alone but not all.

Even if you lose at court then most judges will knock out the £60.00.

You need to state the trangression in order that the forum regulars can advise you of the best defence points.

Basically, accidentally parked in the wrong car park for the gym. They used to use both car parks but now the gym have been assigned just the 1 car park. The second car park  is now used by an NHS service. A brain fade meant that the wrong car park (the old one) was used.

Cant think how to argue the case, but main issue as mentioned is the excessive £60 debt collection fees, the excessive initial £100, and that due to my own fault not being at the address to which the "invoice" was sent for a number of week, i was not able to pay the £50 nor appeal it.

    thanks in advance

If you decode to do a late appeal, it goes to VCS. I'm sure they will reject it, but you will be able to show a judge you were reasonable and tried to resolve the issue without need of involving the courts.

How does the PPC describe the transgression?

If the signs weren't good enough to inform/remind the driver where to park for the gym, they weren't good enough and that is one defence point

    When did the changeover happen?

Can you give details of the car park please?

If the staff are getting tickets then there must be some issues with the car park.

the transgression is " Contravention: 101) PARKED WITHOUT PAYMENT OF THE PARKING TARIFF FOR THE VEHICLE REGISTRATION MARK OF THE VEHICLE ON SITE"

the car park i parked in i believe was for NHS staff with a badge. However it was during the late afternoon and there were plenty of parking spots around at the time.

There was signage inside the gym and a few outside maybe? brain fade meant i went into the wrong car park, eventhough the changeover had happened about a year ago.
