Halifax timeline

Has anyone else had letters from the solicitors Halifax use (Optima legal) before they've had an offer? We've also had a desktop valuation confirmed (at about 50k more than the house is worth) but still no offer.

Yes, that's right. I expect to have it by tomorrow.

I got the same email on the same date! Are you using their conveyancers (Optima)? They haven't received the offer yet from Halifax either but like you I'm hoping both me and the conveyancer get it by tomorrow...

I'm using a local solicitor. I spoke to the Halifax adviser yesterday who told me that the offer has been posted to both my solicitor and me. I had asked for a level 2 survey and hope to get the report early next week. And then forward that to the solicitor for queries etc. I'm hoping to be able to complete by mid-October, fingers crossed.

We exchanged yesterday.  Complete the 10th. 

So from end of july until now super fast compared to our last purchase which took just over a year !

Switched to Halifax as Legal and General outsourced to some truly bad valuers giving me 50k down valuation which does not match market rates for similar properties that have sold. 

Application submitted 2nd September
Valuation booked on 3rd for Tuesday 7th with E-Serv, 

Hopefully we get valuation back in 24 hours unlike legal and general which took 2 weeks!

Is that for a remortgage? if so are you getting the £750 cashback?
