Morning all,
Dull but not raining here, even though it has all been promised but has disappeared into thin air again.
Bedding stripped and in the wm. Bed airing as it probably needs it before I remake it. DW emptied.
Off to take Dd to work now, back later xx6 -
Meems 'rona test came back positive.. so she is skiving work for a bit.. it will give her burn time to heal though.
OH is 'self isolating' (actually skiving work.. the chances of him having it are beyond none at all, his 10 days are up the day before we go on holiday.. coincidence?) She is a bit hoarse but nothing at all really, but she will have been exposed when we ll had it last year so this could really be her second run with it.
DD2 is here until Monday..

Whole house (except the utility) cleaned between 9.00 and 11.00
Blinds quote looks good, but I need to talk to DS1, who needs to call round anyway to collect money, an old laptop, flowers for DDiL1, and the all-important cake
I'm off to take Rosie for a walk before lunch, since light rain is forecast for most of the afternoon (but of course, it may not happen).7 -
First coat of paint finally on the small bedroom walls. Or study as I might have to get used to calling it. Looks like I won’t have enough for a second coat tomorrow, which is annoying as it will probably run out on the last wall.
DH playing in the shed, allegedly “fixing things”.
I need to do HHI after I pick DD up from work.
Pizza for tea, which is easy.Still waiting for the rain and storms to arrive…7 -
Quiet here today.
Managed ParkRun despite the rain; not my best time but not my worst. With hindsight, I should have practised more hills (knew that but couldn't face it!), shouldn't have eaten so much Indian takeaway last night (never thought of that) and I shouldn't have run up the first hill after the start.........but hey, I did it.
Spent the rest of the day - apart from sitting too long over numerous coffees reading a book 'recovering':
- picking french beans, broad beans, gooseberries and blueberries;
- showed neighbour where hedgehog feeding station is so she can replenish it while we're away;
- packing for all weathers,
- cooking, roasting and freezing veg which will go off while we're away;
- changing gas/electric tariff as ours expires in a few days;
- watching a bit of Olympics
- phoning mum and brother
- downloading books onto kindle
Have a good weekend/week.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
I have picked 2lb if currants, cleaned 2lbs of currants, cooked 2lbs of currants, jammed 2lbs of currants and considered changes to guest room in the light of DD's announcement that she plans to use said bedroom

Good morning!
Where has the week gone?! Whoops!
DD2 has been isolating all week, which means she has stayed upstairs while I have been working. She normally helps me with the children, and they love playing with her. There have been times when we have come indoors, and 'let her out' in the garden! 🤣 Her isolation finished last night, so her BF is here already today and she will spend some time with him.
Narc0 well done on doing the parkrun 😁 I bottled it and volunteered instead in an effort to get my mojo back. I need to get my slinky on so it would help that. On that note I rejoined sw last Monday. I have been good all week, then blew it yesterday as I had the munchies and we need to go shopping for good 😇 stuff! Back on it today....
I had a day of volunteering yesterday as later in the afternoon I joined a small community group to litter pick the area. It consisted of me, 2 ladies that are ALWAYS picking up after other people and our 3 local councillors (who also do this a lot). I didn't want to be one of those people that moan, offer help and then never do it!
I also emptied the food bin, WULTD, wiped all the kitchen surfaces, put on DW and did 1 WM load. Everyone else in the house did very little!
The BD is nipping at DH's heels 😕 He is so fed up with work, and is now looking for another job. I think we would both like to retire, but we are not quite there yet! A few debts still need clearing, and we don't have huge savings. At least the mortgage is paid!
Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them. Have a good day all! 🙂7 -
Good morning all,
Well done to the Parkrunners, runners and volunteers alike. My fitness is back down to its low point and my weight is back up at its high point. Not entirely sure why it can’t be the other way round, but lethargy and zero will power have a lot to do with it. Stood on the scales this morning and didn't like the number at all.
I have written a (boring) list for today. DD out to a driving lesson shortly, wm is on, DH is settled in the armchair. Grrrrrrrr.
I had an email yesterday from an old friend. I need to update her on our past few months. Not looking forward to it, might put it off for another day.
I feel for your DH, GI. It’s similar here, although DH is too old and disillusioned to look for another job. I would like him to retire, and the plan was that he would at the end of this year. Then our lives went upside down, and it’s easier sometimes to have at least something that brings a routine into the house and doesn’t mean change. Good luck xx

Afternoon All x
well done exercisers. X
we have just returned from visiting DS2, we did part of a triathlon route and were cheered and clapped for our great patience. I hope it isn’t on every week. We had a picnic on way home.

Hi all
I have had the most amazing weekend with my brother, he stayed here from Thursday night and left this morning. We cycled yesterday then had parents and MIL around last night for a BBQ. We also had a very deep and meaningful conversation about our childhood and how we can never remember a time when our parents seemed happy together. We both agreed it has made us determined to enjoy life. It also makes me realise why I am sometimes anxious and lack confidence (not that I entirely blame my parents for that).
Anyway, a combination of a couple of late nights, wine, and a long cycle ride yesterday have left me feeling groggy and a bit bleugh today. I have just put a load of washing in but that's it.
Need to make plans for the week. I have overspent this month so really should try to get my head around that too.
Well done on the Parkruns, love to Valli and anyone with poorly family xx9
