Why didn't you say tomato sauce then🤣🤣
I suppose it's the same as saying Marguerita instead of cheese and tomato pizza. Just what it's called on the menu. 🤔

Morning all, it's looking to be a nice day although it's forecast to get cloudy later.  Going to get the door mats washed this morning, including the one from the motroorhome.  Also going to give the motorhome a good clean over the next couple of days - will start today with cleaning the loo/shower room and hoovering the floor.  Will get in there and wash the floors probably tomorrow or Sunday.

DH has gone off to play golf again this morning so I've got a few hours to myself.  Having my hair cut later this morning which I'm glad about as getting really fed up with it; going to have it cut short again and it definitely needs thinning out.  Trouble is I had to leave it a couple of extra weeks because we were away the week it was due to be cut so I changed it to this week but my hairdresser couldn't do Tuesday which is when I usually have it cut so today was the only day she could fit me in.

So I've weighed myself this morning and I'm still out of target but quite pleased that it's only about half a pound!  I was almost 3lb over top end when we got back from holiday so means I've lost about 2.5lb but suspect quite a bit of it was water.  It doesn't help that I'm a bit bloated as the painkillers my GP has given me are known to cause constipation; he also prescribed laxative drinks but I've not bothered with them yet as I've still managed to "go" just not properly (sorry TMI!).

So today is the start of my new week and a full 105 syns - just need to stay under that number!  It helps that I can't drink with my painkillers so I may actually struggle to use my syns this week - for a change!

    Today's plan:

B - breakfast hash - LO tinned potatoes; mushrooms, pepper, courgette, spring onions (I still can't chop onions and forgot to ask DH to chop some for me); bacon; topped off with eggs - P; S; F
    L - jacket potato; small portion of butter chicken from freezer - P; S; F; 1.5
    D - beef in black bean sauce; noodles - P; S; F; 2

    HEA - milk
HEB - none planned but may have a couple of Ryvita
Syns - butter (in curry sauce) 1.5; black bean sauce 2; butter 3.5?

    Have a good day everyone.

PS. Forgot to say I managed to change our Eurotunnel booking to December/January yesterday.  Cost an extra £23 so not too bad, could have been worse!  So we'll be away for both Christmas and New Year so I won't have the hassle of a big Christmas dinner for the family!

Morning all, well slept slightly better and managed an extra hour's sleep but woke to a really dark, dull day.  Looks as if it could pour down.

I always see your dinner pics when I log on in the morning @bubbs and they always make me hungry    I'm going to try the famous KFC but forgive me all it won't be tonight as I've no chicken left!  Shopping day and butchers tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes.

    Today's plan:
B - sweet omelette, ff yoghurt, banana and whatever other fruit is left, 1/2 tbsp skinny syrup
L - last of tomato and red pepper soup
D - SW sausages, onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, mustard

    HEXA1 - milk for coffee
    HEXA2 - none planned
    HEXB - none planned
    Syns - 0.5 skinny syrup, 0.5 mustard

Don't feel as bloated as I did earlier in the week but still expecting a gain tomorrow especially with two weigh in holidays and knowing what I've consumed in that time!  I'll just keep plodding.

Does anyone like any of the prepared meals from the SW range?   I prefer to batch cook and have a selection of leftover/extra meals in the freezer when I CBA but just wondering if it would be worth having a couple just to ring the changes, though not very MSE.

Yup, and there's the rain, absolutely torrential :(

I've only tried a couple of the SW meals and quite honestly wouldn't give them freezer space.  Definitely best to make your own "ready meals" to keep in the freezer.  As you already batch cook then you've got a head start over a lot of new starters.

The recipes are on the boxes if you fancy trying any of them - just take a photo of it on your phone when you're in Iceland!; some of them are also online.

Thanks Denise that's pretty much my thinking.  The friend I meet at class lives on them and she encouraged me to try their sausage and burgers but I'm not keen on either - hence dinner tonight just to get rid!   I've the Pinch of Nom book so should maybe dust it off and see if there's anything I fancy!

    Morning all.

    Well done on SOTW @Gettingtherequickly.

Fingers crossed for you @bubbs that the bloating doesn't affect you too much this week

You're making me jealous @joedenise with your talk of Christmas markets.  We were supposed to go back to Prague last Christmas but obviously that was cancelled and I'm to nervous to re-book for this year (even though the prices are really good).  Will just have to make do with a week in Wales at the end of September for our holiday this year I think.

I've had a few of the SW ready meals @Jellybaby and find that they're really peppery and while I like pepper on my food, I don't like it that much!  They're ok in a pinch but prefer to batch cook my own things and freeze for later.

Had a really busy week so far this week, and being back in the office is definitely an experience; journey home took 2 hours last night because the roads were shocking.  Woke up this morning determined to get back into exercise - I've been making a lot of excuses over the past couple of weeks so tonight I will be easing myself back in with a lower body workout and see how it goes.

Had usual breakfast of ff yogurt with blueberries this morning, lunch will be more roasted tomatoes on cream cheese toast (just can't get enough of this at the moment!) and then dinner is roasted salmon with potatoes, chorizo peppers and green beans, and a sneaky glass of wine because it's been a week!

Hope everyone has a good day!

    Morning all,

I quite fancy trying the cream cheese tomato combo on my ryvitas @ruby_eskimo , might be nice!

My corned beef hash was 2 days out of date when I got to it yesterday, bad planning but I did the sniff test and it failed so emergency pot noodle it was. Like a drowned rat after our walk, caught in a long and hard shower so the bangers and mash after a shower was most welcome!

    B granola ss milk

    L pot pasta – bolgnese

    D – BP tuna salad

More PON recipes next week for me, haven’t decided which yet though

  • Starting to lag now, been awake since 4, ended up listening to Steve Allen on LBC, he is so funny!

Think tomorrow may be a bad day, walking but the suggestion has already been made that we go for a Chinese. I like the idea but on a roll so need to keep that way, so may cook something this evening and say that we can have that, at least then I will be in control. I am certainly in control for lunch, I usually take the food, and the others get the coffees!
