I liked The Larkins last night, although I absolutely loved The Darling Buds of May. It’s nice gentle Sunday night viewing.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Sun_Addict - I did enjoy it, but will treat it as another new program, and you're right it's gentle, uncomplicated Sunday night viewing.

WinterWarrior - in my young day I wished I'd looked like Mariette, but I would like to be Ma now, just fantasy though no money under my mattress!!
So today doesn't seem like a Monday to me, I've been in the backroom changing the bed (didn't let the cat in)washing the linen and carrying on with the last of the sorting in there, done now so happy.
Did a bit more in the garden, cleaned the inside of the car for the MOT/service on Wednesday, it was in dire need and will get it washed on Friday or Thursday if I get time.
Off to have dgs for the day tomorrow, dd is back at work and their puppy is able to go walks now, so I may take them both a little walk as he is walking really well now, but there again it may be easier to take him in the pushchair!
Lunch - LO bean casserole
Tea - more LO bean casserole!

Really quick one from me and then I'm off to bed, they've worn me out! I think it was the walks I did firstly with the dog and pushchair and then into the small town with the pushchair (and dgs as well!). Had a free coffee whilst in there so it made up for the aching legs. Home about half past six.
Lunch - sandwiches etc
Tea - noodles with mixed veg (nice and quick), followed by mince pies. Really loving the mince pies but won't have anymore until Xmas now.

It's always lovely to catch up with you here NannyG. I agree with you about the news, it does feel rather doom and gloom at present. Especially the shortages being reported, though I must admit that some seem a little more "savvy marketing" than shortages (like shortages of Christmas choccies...hmmm, really?)

On the plus side, I found out recently you can freeze mince pies…so it’s worth grabbing a few of the yellow stickers packs if you find them again 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

cbsexec - I love mince pies but having them with coffee, after dinner etc has satisfied me for the moment!
Toonie - there's loads of chocolate tubs about in all the shops, I reckon you're right about savvy marketing!
WinterWarrior - I've eaten frozen mince pies!! When my dds were really young I used to makes dozens (I had a big freezer) of them and I still had very few come Xmas, both me and ex loved them!!!
Today the car passed the mot and the service was completed ok, so that was a lot of money spent but I'm glad it's done. I caught a bus back home from the garage but I walked all the way back to pick it up and it didn't take as long as I thought it would. When I was reading a thread last night someone mentioned that their local coop recycled thin plastic ie bread bags fruit bags etc so as I passed one walking to the garage I took some of mine in and yay there was a bin there for them.
Managed to clean the hamster out, hoover downstairs, make a bol sauce to last the next couple of days and check budgets and banking. All a bit boring really but that's life in the main, with an odd bit of excitement thrown in occasionally!!
Tomorrow is .... Not sure really, probably a bit like today without the car being at the garage ....

I think I have made a boo boo with my grocery spend, after today I have 4.43 left to last until Tuesday night. I know I will manage it as I shouldn't need anything but I thought I had more left, anyway I've just been adding my receipts and I forgot one of them. I keep grocery money in a little purse on its own and the receipts in an envelope and they didn't tally, no matter, I will just have to be more careful adding them in future.
Went to the community pantry and it was really quite empty of people not food, I thought it would have been busy with half term coming up. Anyway got a few bits and some more mince pies!!! I know I said I wasn't but me and mince pies go way back lol. Managed to bag a few leeks, so potato and leek soup being made tomorrow, one of my favourites.
That's about it for today, didn't get my bulbs planted so that's for tomorrow, but I have finished another library book just another two to read before I exchange them.
I'm sat here with last year's pumpkin candles lit and my fibre optic witch on, looking cosy and warm, with a new read ready, so I'm calling it a day.
Take care and 'see' you tomorrow.

Late to the party today. Been busy in the house this morning and at the allotment this afternoon and then had a couple of very nice catch up phone calls.
Did laundry, cleaned out fridge, cleaned halogen cooker, made leek and potato soup and worked in the garden for a bit. Ended up not picking dgds up from school as dd had forgotten to take car seat out of her hubbies car, so I'm having them on Wednesday instead, and I went to the allotment and carried on clearing beds, chopping up rubbish and bagging it then taking it to the tip on my way home, it was lovely and warm down there and it felt good to be in the sunshine.
No monies spent and there shouldn't be over the weekend either. I'm looking after dds puppy so that will be interesting!!! He does know me but never been to my house.
Take care everyone and have a lovely weekend.
