I like french toast when I have spare eggs, but I do have a sweet tooth as you know 😋Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

WinterWarrior - I have given some away, but I like the idea of French toast, pancakes (the small ones), I will make a fruit cake over the weekend and go with omelettes for lunch lol.
Today has been a busy one, a bit of cleaning and then tidying the garden and digging a border up to get rid of all the stuff that was in there, oh and then thinning the tamerix tree and putting the two small greenhouses away in the shed, which I had to clear a bit before they would fit in there.
So I never left the house!! But no money spent either. Tomorrow I'm going to do a bit more clearing in the back bedroom and hopefully get to the allotment or depending on how I go with the clearing I might go lottie on Sunday, there's not so many people there on a Sunday, a fair few go on a Saturday and they will insist on having a catch up which when you want to get on isn't so good and I'm not rude enough to tell them to shuffle on!
Made some 'sunshine' soup that was on a tesco recipe card some time ago. It calls for a sweet potato but as I haven't got any I used an ordinary potato instead. It was very nice when I had a taste mid afternoon, and will last over the weekend. It was one of their adverts a few years ago!
Anyway better get on I have a letter to write that I want to post before the local post box is emptied tomorrow dinnertime. Take care everyone.

Ooh pancakes! I do love them, but tend to forget unless it’s pancake day 😬. I need to have at least one lemon and sugar and one treacle (that’s golden syrup if you grew up somewhere different to me 😁. We always had treacle or black treacle (mostly for toffee!), but never golden syrup).
sunshine soup sounds good. I hope you have a lovely day.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

WinterWarrior - thanks, I hope you are having a great day. I've come on early as I want to watch strictly later, it's funny but I don't an awful lot of tv, but I do like to watch the dancing on strictly !!!!
Had a busy day today. Went to the allotment this morning and cleared the poly tunnel, picked loads and did quite a bit of clearing elsewhere and even planted some more kale and cabbage, not sure if they will do anything as they are the runty leftovers, but they have to be given a chance!!
I picked cabbages, courgettes, the last of the aubergines, cucumbers, last of the tomatoes, butternut squash, a couple of pumpkins, kale and beetroot! It's not all for me and will be divided up between 2 dds and myself. It's quite a haul. Tomorrow if I go it will be more clearing ie pruning the raspberries, clearing the old sweetcorn and cutting up more hedge cuttings - the never ending hedge cuttings!!!!
As it's Sunday tomorrow, I think I will make those pancakes for breakfast, I also like lemon on them and syrup as well. When I was little we only ever had them on Pancake day and it was always with lemon and sugar, but now I make the little ones you can 'tart' them up, I've had fruit and ice cream with them as a pudding!
Today. Lunch - 'sunshine' soup with b&b. It tastes even nicer today than yesterday.
Tea - courgette and red pepper risotto. Followed by rice pudding, but what a mistake all that rice, it's a good job I like it ha, ha!
Right off to open a bottle of beer I have been given, and get settled before the dancing comes on.

Well I woke up late with a sore throat so didn't fancy pancakes just a bucket of coffee and some analgesics.
Felt better by dinnertime! So went out into the garden for a tidy up and ended up spending all afternoon out there. It was lovely and warm as well but now it's a lot cooler and I'm cuddled under a blanket with coffee and chocolate watching more strictly - yay
Lunch - LO soup and bread, followed by a couple of mince pies!!
Tea - slow cooker bean stew.
So I'm off before they start the results.

There’s a few people around with sore throats etc, not Covid related. Hope you feel better soon.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

WinterWarrior - I think I'd agree with you there!
Sun_Addict - thanks I'm feeling a lot better, didn't stop me eating!! Definitely not covid related, there's a lot of colds etc going around here at the moment, and I look after dgc so it's to be expected. But thank goodness, I was able to dive into my winter prep medicines!!
Watched The Darling Buds of May, the books by HEBates were my mum's favourites and her old copies were given to me when she passed, I regularly read them once a year, this adaptation is nothing like them unlike the David Jason ones, so to enjoy them I will have to forget the books and treat them as a bit of comedy/drama.
I don't normally watch this much tv at night so it's makes a nice change. I am also watched the Carol Drinkwater, Provence program, as I've read a couple of her books about the farm, and I like to see the scenery of course.
Anyway off to bed now, tomorrow is going to be a quiet one I hope, as Tuesday and Wednesday will be busy, so I'd better do some cleaning and a bit more of the back bedroom. I went to put the winter bedding on the bed in there today and didn't as the 'not my cat' cat was asleep on it and he looked so peaceful I didn't want to disturb him - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it, so I will try again tomorrow!!

‘Not your cat’ sounds perfect!
I haven’t tried The Larkins yet. I was a bit worried about it as I loved the darling buds of may with David Jason. I remember my dad saying I looked liked Catherine Zeta Jones in it and feeling rather smug….sadly I’d now pass for more of a Ma Larkin 😭😭😭
