I love that you and your daughter can work on the lottie together. One of the crops that I heard may be in trouble is potatoes, and they're one of the few vegetables I seem to be able to grow. You probably have some on the go already, but there might be a spare corner for more. Everything is growing incredibly fast now that it's warmer, so perhaps there'll be some making up for lost time.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Cherryfudge - its strange really as potatoes aren't a go to crop for me (I usually grow a few buckets of new ones) but this year we have planted a bed at the Lottie and I've 12 buckets in the back garden so they should last a bit!! We also planted onions at the Lottie and I have a small bed at home as well, which is another veg I don't normally grow,!

As the weather has been warm and dry I've been working in the garden planting bits and pieces in the raised beds, also potting up various plants as well. It's been lovely to get the laundry all dry outside but it's not so dry today😅🌧️
Today I took pup back home and it's strangely quiet and still here tonight!! We've been on some lovely walks in the countryside, I suppose I'm quite lucky to have it on my door step but I'm not keen on walking on my own, somehow you feel safer with a dog even if his attack mode would probably be 'roll over and tickle me' !!! 🤣🤣
On the money front I have been paid so I know how much I'm getting and have refined the budgets with all the new increases and it works out I'm about £2 better off a month, but the gas & electric increase seems a little steep, especially as I'm credit by a 'nice' amount, so I'm thinking of putting it down a bit for a few months and then putting it up later in the year if I need to.
So not much will be changing in my circumstances at present but at least everything will be paid for and I can still eat🤣🤣
So that's it for a bit, hopefully over the bank holiday weekend I'll get down to the Lottie as I want to build the pea and bean frames, and prepare the poly tunnel for the toms, cucs and melon plants. Apparently there's a bit of a cafuffle (if that's even a word🤣) over plot boundaries and plot prices, that one should be interesting🤣🤣🤣
So I'll see if anybody says anything to me😀

Nice to hear you will be a little better off - you could buy seeds with that.
Aw, you clearly miss the dog when you aren't together. Perhaps you should hire yourself out as a dog walker?
Hope the lottie drama resolves amicably.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hello everyone
Apparently the Lottie drama was over plot sizes, so the council have been around and remeasured all the plot sizes and will be charging accordingly, so it'll be interesting to see who is moaning the most about it!! I'm happy to announce my payment isn't changing but I'm not sure whether if that's because it's the correct amount for it's size or because it's smaller than it should be and they don't tell you 🤣🤣🤣, cynical I know but that particular council is one that is nearing special measures and trying to cut back to claw back money 🤣🤣
Anyway work down there on the plot is progressing nicely with help from eldest dd and plants are finally being planted, mind you the poly tunnel needs sorting out again, but it's nice being down there and pottering about.
The garden is progressing well and plants are popping up, I've had my first harvest of radishes and lettuce leaves so very pleased about that, they taste really fresh and it's nice to pick and eat them as needed.
On the money front things are going smoothly at the moment, monthly bills have been paid, I've had three annual bills this month and these have all been paid, thank goodness for the annual bill pot, but with the increases to monthly bills I haven't been able to save much to put in the house fund, but I'm solvent and that is a really good place to be. I'm hoping to get a couple more jobs done by the handyman next month as long as I'm careful with spending but we'll see.
I have the pup again so enjoying the daily walks again, when it's not raining as I can go through the woods etc and be outside for an hour or two.
So that's my life at the moment, not very exciting and quite mundane but happy, so cheerio for now.

Excitement can be overrated and happy is the best place to be! I am impressed that you are already harvesting lettuce and radishes, although you have been incredibly organised about your gardening from the start of the season. It’s good news that you haven’t come off with higher charges from the allotment shenanigans. It sounds like you and the pup have a lovely time together. Enjoy your week 😊3

Hi everyone, I'm just outside having a coffee in the garden as I've only just got home from the allotment 🤣 I try to get down there every other day but it doesn't always happen. There was an open day on Saturday there, so I went down to see what was happening and bought extra bean plants, some tomato plants, a cucumber plant, a piece of coffee and walnut cake (naughty but very very nice😁) and a cup of coffee!! It was lovely to see other allotment holders, some I haven't seen for a couple of years! Apparently they made over £700, which is very good as we are a very small site.
So amyway life goes on, a few trials and tribulations but no great worries. I have managed to overspend this month and had to rob Peter to pay Paul which is hardly surprising with all the price increases, so some cuts will have to take place and any savings will have to stop whilst I work it all out. I really thought I'd be a bit better off but we all know what thought did😳 I'm sure I'll be able to work something out by cutting back just a little on everything!
Ideas : none at the moment 🤣🤣
But I'm sure I'll manage somehow - well we have to don't we. Anyway enough of that!
I have pup again at the moment, he is such a joy and my doggy friend, and keeps on my toes, thankfully he loves it on the Lottie, all the plots have fences and gates so he can't get out and he's quite happy just exploring all the wilderness bits of it and having the odd nap!
That's about it really, only garden stuff has been bought ( besides food) the house will have to wait a bit but there's not too much that needs doing at the moment and perhaps I can start the painting 🙁 I really don't want to but I've always done it in the past 🙁 .
I'll go now as I need another coffee but I will bring it outside for a little longer before I cook my tea.
