So after losing last night's post I finally got to bed and slept really well.
So today I haven't been out anywhere but I took down the front door curtain and the big back door one (it's a french window that's my back door) and washed both separately, well the washer did not me🙂 and I've rehung them now as it's so nice outside they dried quite quickly considering how thick and lined they both are, I didn't realise how dirty they had got. I was very careful and took my time as they are both heavy, lined curtains and I feel ok.
I've made a meal to last two days as I'm back to the clinic tomorrow for this week's eye appointment and I won't get in until late. Its fat club day on wednesday so I'll be going up there to see what the damage is although I haven't eaten too unhealthy 😏 but you never know.
I've actually run out of milk but as I'm being really frugal this month I took some dried milk out of stores and I'm using that, it was a couple months out of date so I'm pleased I'm using it now instead in a year's time🤣🤣 I'll probably replace it some time when I do a big shop but having stuff in is really handy.
So no money spent, although I've been looking at stuff on the net 😂 but no money has left this house today.

Skint-yet-again ~ hi there, I just happened to come on today because I haven’t been on the forums since my last post. Thank you for posting after I have been absent for so long. My eldest dd has been looking after the Lottie for me, but she’s not a gardener and says it’s covered in weeds😂 when I finally get back to driving ( hopefully in about four weeks) I’ll be down there clearing it ready for next year! But I have ordered my seeds and a couple of blueberry bushes in readiness.

Hello all that have a look at my diary. I’ve been away for so long, I completely went off the boil and my heart wasn’t into any posting etc I haven’t even been for a look on any of the boards BUT I’m back as I need to get my act together again as I’ve been spending like no tomorrow on books and bits of pieces under the guise of getting ready for winter, but it’s not really, just boredom and ‘because I can’ 😕
so I have to get on track and it always helps when I can put it all down.I have managed to stay out of debt but the savings have gone down and the fridge freezer is old and playing up and the gas fire has given up the ghost! My only saving grace is that I’m still not driving so haven’t had to buy petrol since before my first eye op. Anyway I have gone over and over my budget and there’s no real wriggle room anywhere so I suppose I’ll have to manage as best I can. I’m just waiting to get Xmas over and the tv licence is being cancelled, I don’t watch tv very often at all but a few Xmas programs may be nice - I live in hope!!! So that saves about £13 monthly, not much but a start. I could cut some off the amount I put away for annual bills, but I’d rather not and my sinking fund pots are for definite things eg emergency fund, house fund etc and the other direct debits I can’t really change, so it only leaves fuel, food and the other small pots for general living. It’s going to be difficult but I do have enough funds for the fridge freezer so that’s a start!!!When I was working it all out I found it a bit difficult to come to terms with it but I know I’m much better off than many people and I’ll get over it. I get paid on Wednesday and I have about £3 for groceries until then but I do have enough food etc in and as I’m not going anywhere, except for a walks, I should be fine. I’ve counted up all the money I can find in the house and I’ve decided to put it away for Xmas bits, it’s £17.60 from spare change and £30 I had already put away for something but I can’t remember what 🤔 so with Tesco vouchers that my Xmas food, no visitors this year!! So roll on Wednesday and I can get properly started, I’ll have to work out a menu plan for a couple of weeks to start with using up what fresh food I have left and eating out of the freezer in case it gives up the ghost, ( it’s on all the time and it never goes really cold). So that’s my future plan.
I had the all clear for the first eye I had done, the infection had gone, and the following day I had the second one done, again I’ve been on medication in case this one goes the same way as the first one but as far as I know it’s ok, although it was cloudy for a couple of days but apparently that’s swelling of the cornea and quite common and it disappeared after a few days, so I can really well now and I’m very happy with them. When I get signed off in a couple of weeks I have to go to the optician to see if I need glasses, I will need reading ones (I’m managing with some cheap ones from hb but they’re not ideal) and then I can start driving again - yay 😀. I’ll be down the Lottie as fast as the car can go with all the speed bumps and traffic 🤣🤣
I had a routine bp check a couple of weeks ago and it was high so I had to have a monitor for a week and it didn’t go down so they have changed my medication and I have to take more readings again to make sure it has, here’s me trying my best to get healthy, losing weight, no ultra processed food and more exercise and my body doesn’t want to play ball 🤣 it did upset me a bit but it is what it is and originally I was told it was genetic so that’s life I suppose.
Anyway that’s it for today, I have a jacket potato, veggies and a bean burger for my tea with fruit and yogurt for after and some overnight oats if I want something later on, as I didn’t eat them this morning.Roll on next year🤣🤣

Thanks Sun_Addict, sometimes I go off the boil and I can’t be bothered, but this time I really couldn’t be bothered☹️ But I’m back and raring to go otherwise I’ll be in debt before I hit Xmas 🤣☹️

Good to see you back @nannygladys. I'm in the same boat as you with regard to cheap reading glasses from £stretchers - they happened to be in their half price sale so only 90p - very MSE! I can't get my eyes tested even though I should have had them done by now because the optician I want to see is on holiday for another couple of weeks so I have made an appointment for then. I've been very lucky and not had any problems with either eye and have been driving for a few weeks now.
Good luck going forward. You've done it before and you'll do it again. I know it's getting harder for everyone with the cost of living just keep going up.

jjoedenise - I’m pleased someone can afford a long holiday 🤣🤣🤣 I’m hoping to be able to use my old glasses frame for new reading ones as I really like them! But if not I may just have the prescription to get some cheapies elsewhere, all depends how much they want to charge me🤣🤣
thanks for the luck as I think this time I’ll need it, there’s only so much you can cut back on and I’m getting really close to it, I’ll be going to the council and seeing if I can make a cheeky deal with them 🤣🤣🤣£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1 -
Are you entitled to Pension Credit? Might be worth looking into. I know before you said that you were a couple of pound over the limit but have things changed at all since then? Good luck with the council!
