joe Denise - I did apply for pension credit last year and I do get it, it’s around a fiver a week! But it’s not the guaranteed type but this savings type! So I’m not entitled to free council tax, dentist etc but I did receive the cost of living payment. They don’t make it easy as I know I’m a couple of pounds over the basic amount but my savings are more my emergency fund etc! I think it’s best to spend everything you get if you want help, but I’m not like that I need a small cushion, that’s why I can buy my fridge/freezer when I can get out to the shops again. But having said that I’m  very grateful for anything I receive. I didn’t even know there was two types of pension credit.

Sun_Addict - my brother, sister and father all suffered from high blood pressure and after they tried to find a cause (I was a lot younger then) the doctors said it was genetic but you live in hope that you can still change it😕 I’m ok with it now and will carry on with all things healthy to try and prevent it getting any worse 🙂

Baron_Dale - I don’t really watch tv at all these days and use you tube for news etc. its only switched on when the grandchildren are visiting but even then they are usually playing with the old style toys their mums had (or toys the others have grown out of) or on their tablets etc 😀 so it’s not that I’ll miss it, I do read quite a lot though and a regular library user, in fact eldest dgd has downloaded the library borrowbox app onto my phone but I still like a physical book best. Oh and I only have a free view box so no Netflix etc so I won’t miss it, but I thought it might be nice for the films over the festive season, although I do have loads of dvds I haven’t watched yet 🤣

I'm not sure you're in the right age group or receiving the the right type of pension credit, but there's this: Check if you can get a free TV Licence - TV Licensing ™

It's good to have you back and wonderful that your eyes are settling so well, so hopefully you will soon be back at the lottie. I'm guessing your low mood might just lessen once you're out there and more able to live your usual life. Do you have any indoor plants? I'm thinking windowsill herbs for extra taste and vitamins, and also because having another living thing around can be therapeutic, even if it's a green living thing!

Depending on your library, there may be other library apps, like Libby, available. I can never remember what's on which app but you can read newspapers and magazines online too (you may already know this, sorry).

If your savings have gone down since last year when you applied, it might be worth contacting DWP again, as the amount you receive is based on the amount you have saved. You never know, they might give you a bit more! KA
