So today I walked to the library to take my last book back, I didn't get another out as I have quite a few at home that I want to read first. Then into the post office to post an anniversary card to my middle DD, it cost £2.20 and the envelope was only small!!!! It costs a lot more to send her letters, cards and parcels than it does for her to send them to me, infact I don't send parcels anymore. Then the walk home....🙂
So eldest dgd came up for a couple of hours and when she had gone I didn't do an awful lot. Moved a bit of furniture about and sorted some more paperwork out for shredding.oh I did pick some beans from the garden and eldest DD dropped in some 🍅 toms, cucumbers and beans from when she visited the Lottie to water it for me. She also picked a load for herself plus some courgettes (I have them on the garden and don't need anymore at the moment 🤣🤣)
I looked up buses times to get me to fat club on Wednesday and it's doable,  it's on the other side of the small town I live in which is in dip with fat club being up the other side a few miles away so it's too far to walk unless you're really fit - may be me one day 🤣🤣🤣 yeh!!!!!
That's about it for today, dgs is being bought down here first thing in the morning for the day and eldest dgd is coming round later so no chip shop chips for chippy Tuesday but I think I have some in the freezer and a pizza or two! It's a good job the youngest DD loves me!!! Mind you they don't have them at home so it's his little treat!

  • Yes - it was really fast. Biggest problem is adjusting to the new glasses! But no problem with the operation. Was surprised how different colors seemed afterward - didn't even realize one of my tops had yellow flowers on it until after the operation.

Having no problem with using the computer either or reading.

Good luck with surgeries when needed. Doctor was upset that my eye doctor had me wait so long to do mine. Wants them done when they are smaller and easier to remove as mine apparently covered the whole lens and had to be taken out in pieces.

weenancyinAmerica - crikey that was quick, I've been told you're not signed off from the first eye for 4 weeks, then it could be a couple of more weeks or longer before the other is done, then you wait another 4 weeks to get signed off from that one, then go back to the opticians to get tested for new glasses and then wait for your new glasses. It so the soonest will be 8 -12 weeks before I can go to the opticans after the first op. and then a couple of weeks before you get glasses ! It'll all be worth it though but the timing isn't brilliant as my youngest is having a baby at the beginning of October, so she's starting to get a bit anxious about me not seeing her as she lives about 16miles away and theirs no direct buses or trains there - it'll all work out I'm sure 😊
That sounds quick for the 2nd eye if you're NHS.  My friend had her 1st eye done in late Feb this year and is still waiting for the 2nd eye to be done.  After the first she was told to get new glasses after 6 weeks so even at the time she knew it was going to be longer than that!  They didn't give her a likely time but said it would be less time than she'd waited for the 1st!

joedenise - i was in Wilko's just before my eye test and managed to get loads of seeds at half price and some paint that was on offer for the bathroom and downstairs but they didn't have blinds or curtain poles (which is something else I need) and I won't be going into the city until after all this eye stuff is over 😞, I can't really carry much back on the bus and I do have an uphill walk back from the bus stop (I live in a very hilly area and unfortunately I live near the top of one 😂) it'll all have to wait a bit unless I can either buy online or get someone to take me.
Wilko do online orders and delivery but the sale prices aren't usually as good although who knows now.

The best prices tend to be on remainder stocks, so it is pot luck whether your local store has any. I bought some seed packets at 70% off over the weekend, before that they were 50% throughout July and 3 for 2 in June. In previous years they have gone as far as 90% off, but stock is probably a lot lower this year.

joedenise - Im not sure how it all works but I am under the NHS but it's being carried out in a clinic that I have been told is private, so perhaps the are trying to cut waiting lists. I was told that both eyes are about the same, just that one is slightly worse than the other so perhaps the reason. I'm just grateful I'm having it done and will be able to carry on living on my own😊

The dentist still hasn't been in touch with me though, I will have to give them a ring to see if I can make an appointment with another one at the practise as I don't want to be forgotten.

savergrant - I have been through my seed box and put them into order so I can see what I need to add and to be honest I don't really need any more than I have, but there's always space for a few new ones 🤣🤣 it's surprising how they multiple in there 😏🤣🤣

The food hub haul was excellent. A large flowering shrub might work instead of a tree? They are usually very hardy.
