Is it dangerous to move to house with structural issues

It costs money to be a 'chartered' engineer. My OH has to pay a fee each year for it in a different branch of engineering, for precious little in return as far as I can tell.

In my field we get access to the services of our specific institute, including a journal and some discounted conference fees. Chartered Engineers also get the joy / obligation of mentoring those making their way through the field.Slinky said:It costs money to be a 'chartered' engineer. Weirdly, local branch meetings never check if attendees are members or not, and only charge for their annual dinners.0 -
Update:
02/09/21 - very stressful day and mental exhausted by the Court process.
The judge did not grant the Prohibited Steps Order. He was clear that there are no grounds for that!
He ordered that independent structural survey be completed and served to the Court in October.
I can still move with the children. However, if there are serious structural issues , the matter will have to be taken back to COURT within 7 days.( I’m just worried that his Solicitor is responsible for identifying Structural Engineer) . Not sure how much information they will feed him)4 -
@Doozergirl, I have posted update about today1

The court will expect a proper structural survey performed by an independent surveyor. If there was even a suspicion that people were playing games the judge would make his feelings known very clearly. Not somewhere any legal professional would risk going.

OP, all told it sounds as though things went pretty well. At least you can go ahead with the move now. I really hope the next hearing resolves the issue once and for all.
