billions of towels from yesterday’s flood are wip in the laundry
visited DG’s and attempted a clean up9 -
Congratulations dancemum - star of stage and screen!
Hope the flood has not caused any lasting damage x
It was blue skies and blazing hot sunshine when I went out at a bout 11.30 to get my tyres checked and buy some stamps, but the grey clouds came back and I've been playing hokey-cokey with the washing this afternoon
I have made some progress with completing the bank mandate - but awaiting responses from 3 potential signatories regarding their middle name(s) (if any)/preferred email/preferred phone number.
Must take Rosie for her walk now. DH is at the horse piddle for a blood test and has a Z00m meeting this evening. We have freezer delight for tea.

DM, make sure there is nothing embarrassing in the background, and no small children who walk by bottom naked, muttering about doing poos!!
good luck, xx

Hm another day not quite as planned.
Did a lot in the garden this morning.
Had another search for places in Suffolk we could isolate/recover for a few days. Found one we liked the sound of.
Parked at hospital for Mr N's cataract appt at 2pm. Had checked a running route and decided to try it; lovely huge park with a nice section by the river. Until the monsoon arrived......got back to the car just after 3pm, absolutely drenched, to find a message from Mr N that they were running late and he wasn't likely to see the surgeon until 3.15. Never mind, I'd taken a flask of coffee, a kindle and my tablet so settled damply in the car. We exchanged messages for a while as no sign of his turn. By 4.30 I was .....less hot but still damp and beginning to stiffen up, so wandered up and down the car park. Some time after 5 I had a text to say say they were giving him tea and biscuits so he would be about 10 mins.......finally appeared at 5.40. Seems the cataract had been a bad one, the capsule was torn so had to be fixed, a bigger new lens than usual had to be fitted; all in all a bit traumatic. Poor man had sat down for his tea and come over all hot and clammy so nurses made him lie down before he passed out. He looked really pale when he got to the car. Thankfully after an hour's sleep he looked better. BUT he has a very restrictive few weeks; we knew it would be no gym, gardening, looking down etc but basically it is pretty much minimal movement for 3 weeks, he is just allowed to read or watch TV and certainly no walking/birdwatching trips. I'm sure Roundtuit will relate to it.
However something good happened today - I got a message saying I have got the uni contract again, without needing an interview. I haven't read the feedback/scoring yet as I just read the news on my phone, but I'm quite relieved.
Tomorrow I start being the sole carrier/flyer/driver etc.....Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Well done on getting the uni contract, Narc0
- but I'm very sorry to hear about Mr N's miserable afternoon, and hope he can cope without his walks and birdwatching for 3 weeks and will make a good recovery xx
I've had a day of minimum achievements, nothing even worth listing, and the freezer delight (moussaka) wasn't properly defrosted when we came to eat it, despite having been taken out of the freezer this morning. On my way to bed now.

Morning xx
Just sticking my head round the door to send best wishes to Mr Narc0. And well done to Narco xx
Belated happy birthday to all those celebrating this week 🥂🍾 xx
It's my last day at the paid stuff before 10 days off...I'm running on fumes, well ready for a proper break ( as opposed to a sick leave break).
I've made my bed and the bird seed and recycling are ready to go out.
Hugs, sticks, fluffy mules available as required....no spoons though, sorry, I need those myself today.
Much love to all

Morning all,
Love and hugs to all who would like them - I will keep my sticks but help yourselves to spoons xx
It's another lovely day here. The first load of washing is on the line, and the doormat and mophead are now in there on a hot wash. I have emptied and re-loaded the DW, emptied the kitchen bin and filled it with hot soapy water - it was grim. The shortbread I made earlier this week went down a treat with the children so I must make some more today.
I am hoping to have my second vaccine tomorrow, there is a walk in place open in the village so I will be there for 8am.
Take care all xx11 -
Good morning all,
I enjoyed making the most of my later start today, as that's me just got up.
My list for today:- Sort out the laundry that was done overnight.
- Put food out for the birds
- Apply wormer to the cat - Tried but the cat wouldn't cooperate.
- Declutter 100 emails from inbox
- Sort through footage on the wildlife camera
- Do freelance work
- Spend an hour looking for freelance contracts
- Do volunteer shift (I man phones for a wildlife rescue)
- Tidy the bedroom then hoover and dust. - Never got the hoovering done.
- Clean the inside of the bedroom windows, as the window cleaner was here the other day and it highlights how dirty the windows are on the inside.
- Revise the budget for when I go back to uni
- Check the bank and update d/d list. - Work in Progress
- Check that I've found all the paperwork for renewing tax credits
- Complete the tax credit renewal
- HH me time (face mask and nails at home)
- Take the kids out for a Friday treat (probably a local ice cream shop)

Morning all.
MMM, your lists are getting longer!
asb, shortbread mmmmmmm!!! (forbidden here atm). More sticks thrown for your BD.
Yaaaaay-it's-Friday!!! vibes to Round
Achievements so far this morning:
- woke up far too early and made a cuppa, but then managed to get another hour of sleep by being firm with myself
- showered, dressed, breakfast
- hoovered quickly all through downstairs and upstairs *and* the staircase; picked the ancestors up off the study floor, but now they're lounging on the bed in full view
- made a phonecall which has solved part of a problem
- started forwarding an activity sheet (created by someone else) to the Toddler Group families but decided that it wasn't much use in its present format, so I need to re-write it
- mowed the lawn, cleaned the mower, did the lawn edges - all before it started spitting rain again.
DH wants to go out for lunch, maybe we'll take Rosie to the forest, but it's a bit black again ...
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all in need xx9 -
A quick hello from me as I'm not going to be distracted by anything, not even cleaning until I've done my four reports and other admin bits related to the lessons I finished this week. No more lessons until September so I am going to get all my paperwork up to date today and take it all into the office and sign all the necessary bits. Then everything is going away until September. I tend to put off all the admin and then get stressed by it. Feeling determined this time. I've done 2 of them and the next 2 will be quicker as have already sorted the format etc. Currently having a quick lunch as am starving.
Bed made, clothes picked up
