Morning all,
Nice to have you back, YL. Glad you managed a good rest.
Kaz, I am still so nervous about DD driving, and we are just over 3 months post op. Add to that the L plates on the car, and I am surprised that I am so outwardly calm about it all! But the boost in confidence that it gives her to be “normal” means that we carry on.
Yesterday was a mega flying day, happy with that, even though it does mean that little and often has gone out of the window at the moment. I even got the first coat of paint on the small bedroom ceiling. The aim was to do the second coat today, but there isn’t enough paint left. DH’s job for last Friday (on his day off, I might add) was to buy another tin of paint, and also source the chosen colour for walls. Guess what he didn’t do…😡. When big shops are a minimum 30 mile round trip, it makes popping out less of an option. So this morning I am on my second cuppa, the first load is in the wm, and I seem to have lost 2 hours to yet another book…9 -
Fayolle ~ I am worried when he goes out on his bike, even before we knew about the cancer, however I currently cannot stop him, he is not on any medicine, it is a good warm day here, the roads are full of tourists, which means he has to go slower
he has his core strength back (not fully) all the wounds have healed and is able to control the bike, how can I stop him, he loves going out on it as well.
However it will be very different, once he starts chemo at the end of this month / early next month (date not yet given) for 3 months that is it, they have already told him he cannot drive during this time and told him that included riding his bike, so take will take us to some where near November time, he normally doesn't do winter riding, so it will be a relief for me.He and the bloke from next door have gone for a ride out to 'sunny Hunny' currently, so I am about to go and visit a local animal rescue centre which is not charging entry fee.Families / men / kids / pets etc they all worry us, some more than others when you get a curved ball chucked at you like us.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Was up and showered before 9, despite having a late night last night (watched a romcom I'd recorded). 3 loads through WM so both lines are full. it's a little cooler and duller than it as yesterday but I'm hopeful it will dry.
I didn't mention the mouse on my last post. I had a feeling there was one in (again) because the cat was keeping a close eye under the WM and TD. When I was cleaning the kitchen I noticed mouse droppings behind the recycling bin which is near the TD so i pulled out the TD and there it was. It had been chewing paper and it was probably surviving on rabbit food which had been dropped on the floor and gone under the TD. It ran under the WM so I cleaned behind the TD and then left the back door open in the hope it would escape. No droppings this morning so it seemed that plan had worked.
So this morning went to let rabbits out - they were both in the understorey - with a mouse in the hutch. Cat spotted it so i shut the hutch up. Stupid mouse then makes his bid for freedom under the nose of the cat but I managed to scoop her away.

Just back from visiting DS2. He isn’t too bad at the moment. We helped him unpack and brought the spare tv back to give him more space. Did a little flying there but I only had a small pack of wipes so I had a word and a member of staff came and brought supplies. It isn’t allowed for the equipment being left in the bungalow in case they become weapons. I will go more prepared next time.
We spotted a couple of lovely looking garden centres with cafe that we can investigate another time. Hope to be also more confident soon to investigate the surrounding area.
Neighbours are clearing their back garden so we suspect they are having a football party.I have just stuck a wash on.8 -
Dancemum that all sounds positive, fingers crossed he continues to settle in and I hope you feel a little bit better about it all.
Holiday clothes put away, been to Li@l for supplies. Feel sick at the thought of Monday morning. DH has been to the shop and bought a lemon meringue pie because he says we are technically on holiday until tomorrow, and he thought I needed cheering up.
DHs monthly invoices to do and finance spreadsheets to update. DS2 has got a work placement which is fantastic news for him, it also means that we dont have to pay his rent for the rest of the summer!10 -
Washing gathered.
DW been on twice
one length of work surface is cleared.. I may have just had a bit of a strop.. and it is gearing up to be a full on explosion..
Pack ups done.
I asked OH to do dinner and he piffled about so much being in the way and doing things wrong I just took over and did it myself while loading the DW and doing pack ups.. I'm not actually sure he did anything... He got pasta sauce from the shed.. and drained the pasta.. now I am more angry... I did everything.. again..
2 episodes of 'Hoarders' watched.. now I am so sad.. one of the houses wasn't even as bad as mine.. hence the rage.. I asked OH about the 2 doors in the backroom.. one has been there 3 YEARS... and I asked him where we should put the table currently in the hallway, been there since February... and he dared to ignore me.... I have utter rage... I am so on the verge of a meltdown.. I can feel it happening and I am utterly powerless to fend it off..
I need someone to help in this pit..
