Hi everyone, Hope you are all safe and well.
Holiday season is over, Mr Pepper is back at work full time. Didn't get to York, it has been put forward to next month as i need to visit a certain shop for footwear and couldn't face it in school holiday time.
So the last 2 / 3 weeks has seen me see visiting several consultants, Dr's and the Pain clinic, my ibs and anxiety have not been good... nothing positive to report, just suck it up and get on with things, probably the main reason I've been absent.
Got on the scales 3 times this morning and even gave them a dust to check again, @Brambling a loss of 2 lb please = a total of 8.5 lb.
No idea how that happened, I don't feel as if I have lost, was looking to report a gain, a bit in shock.
Have a good week everyone.
P.s got some of the special K bars from S@insburys, they are on offer for £1, 96 cal... chewy and chocolate they hit the spot!

Well done everyone with a loss 👏 and those who have a gain remember be kind to yourself and no beating yourself, tomorrow is a new day new. Sorry to see several of you are having difficulties at the moment
take care everyone 🙂
I'm hoping I've updated the chart correctly, usual rules apply, shout if I've messed up 🙂
I'm trying to get back on track, my shopping delivery was all healthy no 'naughty' foods I must have been feeling inspired when I did the order before my hols 😁 I just need to stick to it and resist using one of the many courgettes in a cake, even one for the freezer 😐
Monna i once commented to my sister that when I cooked I often didn't fancy eating afterwards, then realised that it was probably because I pick so much as I cook / bake 🙄 I hope the wake went well and when you have a spare minute (stop laughing) I want you to write out a hundred lines 'I must think before I open my mouth and volunteer' 😀Dumpling I hope your son is ok, MH issues are so difficult for everyone included. Just remember you aren't long out hospital for the second time this yearyou need to be well to help others
have a good week everyone 🙂Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin3 -
Happy with 2 1/2 lbs off this week especially as it means I start with a lower number !
wine group today and tomorrow taking DGD and family out for an Indian before she goes off to university on Saturday ,so will have to be v careful next week5 -
It feels like the weight is getting harder to shift - but it's still shifting. I noticed that when heavier, my calorie burn during exercise per session was higher. If I did a 30 minute uphill walk at 200lbs, I would expel around 300-350 calories, but doing the same exercise at 165lbs, now it's only 200-250 calories - so the lighter me is getting fitter, but more exercise needed to achieve a similar daily calorie burn. (There's over 15 bags of sugar that I'm no longer carrying around)
I've now almost lost the weight of two suitcases when going on holiday. It starts putting things in perspective as you begin to quantify and visualise the loss.
The weight is still a few lb off where I want it to be - but getting very close now. The fish and chips I promised myself is now within reach. Maybe another 3-4 weeks and I could get there - but depends on if I can keep the movement downwards.
Daily calorie consumption is still at around 1000 or below.
Daily exercise is still a minimum of 30 minutes - but more likely around an hour - and up to an hour and a half peak - combined from riding a bike on a cycle path (Usually 17km) - and walking on a treadmill uphill for 30-60 minutes.
Most people I know hardly do a fraction of this exercise, and eat huge amounts of food and never seem to gain weight. I eat one slice of cake and up I go 3lbs! So next phase will be back to maintaining where I increase the calorie load slightly, and have a rest day from time to time, to see where the happy medium is. And looking forwards to the fish and chips, gravy, bread and butter etc.
It's been good to have a 'weigh-in' day, and share the journey so far - and I know we all struggle with it in one way or another. Life gets in the way of loss and progress, but with focus we can make small steps in the right direction. I know there's a few less familiar faces here right now compared to when we started - but if you haven't yet begun achieving where you want to be - don't let it get you down. You can still do it. If I can, you can. I started with my goal of 21lbs over the challenge period thinking I might struggle to achieve it, but when posted publicly it gave me a little more incentive to show progress, and kept my desire to achieve alive. There's still a couple of weeks to go, and I'm now sitting on a loss of over 28lbs on the challenge period, and 39lbs since I decided to do something about my weight. Another 6-7 lbs and I'll be where I want to be. (Then comes the challenge of dealing with the saggy bits!) Who said life was easy?
My weekly copy and paste bit with the new update added:
Prior to week 1 here, my peak was 200.84lb - I'd started my own weight loss journey a couple of weeks before joining this weight loss journey.

Week 3 start weight: 181.77 (lost 4.08lb - declared -4lb)

Week 5 start weight: 176.81 (lost 2.87lb - declared -3lb)
Week 6 start weight: 174.61 (lost 2.2lb - declared -2lb)
Week 7 start weight: 173.39 (lost 1.22lb - declared -1lb)
Week 8 start weight: 168.21 (lost 5.18lb - declared -5lb)

Hi I am suffering long days and comfort food lapses, how do you guys pack food for a 12-14 hour day? I have had no time to cook healthy foods, salads are going limp in my fridge - any advice?
This week was less intense, but I have also given up most of my exercise at least in the last 2 weeks, and I feel just too tired to just get back into it.
Today I am at home and I will try to cook a few things for tomorrow - and Tuesday I might have time to plan and cook some more healthy food for Wednesday and Friday. So this week should be better. I am just tagging along for the rest of the quarter, I won't weigh in again until 4th quarter. Hopefully my comfort eating will have been equalised back out by then.

Ditty I tend to batch cook when I know I will be busy and a freezer drawer full of homemade ready meals when I was working 12 hour days in May/June was a god send do you have access to a microwave when working. I try to freeze full meals ie including veg and carbs. With the weather getting cooler soups are also a good alternative for lunches and can be very filling. When I worked in the office I tried to cook enough for dinner to have LOs the next day for lunch.
What about things like pouches of rice, grains or lentils I keep a emergency supply and they are great for quick dinners or lunches. Add tin tuna / stir fry veg and a sauce for a quick meals and enough to to ping LOs. Frozen veg are a quick alternative to prepping fresh. Cook a batch of jacket potatoes and freeze them you can reheat and add tuna or prawn Mayo, cheese and coleslaw or the pots of sandwich fillers from SMs
Just be kind to yourself and find time to relax and take things easy, shop brought ready meals don't hurt once in a while, pad out with frozen veg for quick meals.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -
There are, depending on your tastes, some fairly healthy ready meals out there. Waitrose do a nice oven cook potato topped fish pie that's of a good size and is 375 calories (I usually grate a little extra cheese on the top - but still way under 500 calories all in). Their Asian ready meal range is also fairly good, with things like sweet and sour chicken or char Sui pork being around 400 calories per ready meal (Those are the ones without rice, but still a decent portion size - and I usually make up a salad). 3 minutes in a microwave for these two.
I also get small packs of chargrilled chicken or similar to chop up and mix within my salads. When you say your salads are going limp - is it because they aren't being eaten in time? I get a once a week delivery from Ocado or Waitrose - and my salad stuff lasts until the next delivery. The 3 for £10 offer is good for their meats - with various fresh chicken breasts or thighs flavoured with a range of herbs and spices (avoiding the battered or breaded ones) - 25 minutes in the oven for most of them. I'm sure your supermarket choice would do something similar? @ditty12346
