Are there any genuine PAYG deals left?

  •  When you order the free SIM (no need to pay £10),

Link please. Also, since it is marketed as a data-only device, would it be possible to PAC a number to it?
link posted above by another poster.

Asda PAYG has recently changed over from EE to Vodafone, so your current phone (even if locked) should work with the ASDA SIM as Virgin is also Vodafone. Unless things have changed since the move to Vodafone (I have not checked) you could previously load with as little as £1.
    Minimum of £5 now

Not true, I was with Asda PAYG on their EE network when they changed to the Asda Vodafone they could not unlock my phone (probably due to the cost) they then zeroed my account balance and I lost all of my money. Check out Asda Mobile on Trustpilot before you commit to an Asda Mobile contract.

The OP was on Virgin (runs on Vodafone) and is considering moving to ASDA (runs on Vodafone) so there should be no phone locking considerations. No such thing as an ASDA Mobile contract, it's all PAYG. Have you asked the supplier of your phone to unlock it for you?

Every purchase (goods or services) is a contract, even if it is pre-paid.

The network publishes tariff & terms, you enter into a contract on the basis of those - 99.9% of the time, there would be no standing charge.

Virgin still runs on EE, only new customers on 5G contracts are being connected to Vodafone. All other customers will be on EE until at least the end of this year.

As said the 3 data reward is probably the cheapest option (£0, 200MB a month)

The new cheapest must be RWG Mobile, 50 minutes or texts and 250MB of data for £0.

They also do 75min or texts and 500MB data for £1 if the user wants a little more.
