Today I am grateful for getting out for a good walk in the woods, for dh being around, for ys strawbs, for dd going through her clothes and having a bagful to go, for the tennis, for the springiness of my back lawn as it's not been mowed for rather a long time.

Spent most of the day digging/ cutting out a shrub - it took up an area about 2 ' wide but the roots had a total span of 8 - 9 feet. Also dug out about half a dozen bricks. Washing dried on the line, easy food (think mum and I have both had the same bug, but she suffered more (and is feeling better this morning, so went round trying to make herself ill again) now aching but clean and going to try sleeping soon.
Grateful for dealing with the shrub, removing myself when mum wouldn't accept help, weather being fine but not oppressive. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
Good luck @ditty1234, you know if it was up to us, you'd pass with flying colours!! Glad your mum is feeling better @mothernerd, make sure you rest & take things easy, or you won't feel up to looking after either of you.

Painted son's bedroom walls again after breakfast, then went a 5 mile walk with hubby. Overcast but very hot. Met a friend this afternoon for a beach trip. Found lots of sea glass, good to explore somewhere new too. She was pleased with the 3 sacks of coal I gave her & I was pleased it was out of our garden, though very heavy to lift into the car!
Grateful for a fun day, a soak in the bath, pretty blue butterflies & clean bedding to climb into shortlyUse it up, wear it out

If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Sunday was NSD 3. I did an end of week sweep and around £30 went back into the budget. This was from underspends in food and leisure.Visited OH’s parents too. This made me feel both happy and nostalgic at the same time. I have days where I just long for life to be how it was before COVID - to regularly see family and friends, to go to the football with other fans, to walk into a cafe without assessing its level of safety. We’ve got a holiday booked to the USA in Feb but I don’t feel I can get excited about it in case it doesn’t happen. This morning I started a 4 week course of 3 different nasal sprays - some 3 times a day - to try and tackle my constant ear problems. This is a final attempt by ENT before surgery. I’ve drawn a chart to remind me of what to take and when. I am on and off so many meds, that I can easily forget to take them.My mind isn’t in a good place today. I will need to work on lifting myself out this low mood. I will swallow a frog at work, eat healthy food, go for a walk at lunchtime and listen to my audiobook today. I will stick on some music and maybe even dance.Hope all turtles have a decent day. x

Need to go to my house at some point. My gift card for doing the survey arrived in the post so although it will still be a spend day, I might scrape my essential shop out of the voucher. I want the bed making properly (I have a sheet under me and a cover over me and I have pillows) but not sure how to move things to make space (maybe rearranging the top of the wardrobe - mostly clear now because the folded up cardboard cube boxes fell off).
Still not 100% (not even 100% of current normal which is about 5% of normal normal) - coughing, weird noises when I breathe, stomach not comfortable and shoulders etc complaining because I made them work hard yesterday. So need to make progress (for my MH, inches away from screaming/ gibbering) but cautiously (for my physical and mental health) and keeping the serenity vibe going (no I'm not wearing a daft hat).
Might go with the radical declutter (could do another paper cull) asking myself why I need particular items. I have charity shop donation bags for books, jigsaws and clothes and a similar number of recyclables bags. Try the could I replace this (if I needed it) for under 20 pounds in under 20 minutes. And yes 20 pounds is a lot of money, for many years 20 pounds (sorry the symbol keys are messed up again) was a week's food money for me and 3 boys (even when I married because OH had got it into his head that he was earning a lot of money and should attempt to spend twice as much). Feeling nostalgic for the Wednesday afternoon shop in Sainsbugs seeing how far my 5 pounds would go (they did a clear out of meat, fish, cheese and veg ready to start putting out the new stuff for the weekend).
Okay I'm going to get on and do something even if it's hardly anything at all. Will see if inspiration wells up later - looked at money saving tips yesterday and it depressed me - 'Stop buying handbags' ? When my handbag broke I used to have to wait until 'that time we don't mention before November because we don't want to have Father C'mas shooting his elves' (we have been those elves, we remember the struggle) and get mum to buy me one as part of my present. If I was lucky she might 'lend me' one of hers to be going on with.
Well sense of humour is intact (and Serenity - mentally wearing the daft hat) and that's enough to be going on with. See you later turtles. Congratulations greent (new job) and Dr Carrie (run of NSDs) - I am reading all your posts, just follow through is lacking - might need wheels on the chaise longue (or maybe one of those chairs with 4 big strong men/ women to carry me). Hmmm who should I have Aiden Turner, Chrissie Hynde, Sharleen Spiteri, the one from Guardians of the Galaxy, ooh Vin Diesel - might need more than 4, don't want to overtax them (3 x 8 hour shifts, 4 x 6 hour shifts). Split over how many days, should we go for the 4 day or the 3 day week. Think I might need to go for a lie down. Sedan chair -that's the monkey. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
Thanks for all of the congratulations, Deni, Thrifty, DrCarrie, ditty, Toni'sfriend, apple and mothernerd (and anyone I've missed) - turtles are lovely people!
Good luck, ditty, with you job app! x
Glad to hear that your mum (grandmanerd?) is feeling better, mothernerd
Thankful for leftovers, for chasing up whether I was needed at job 2 this morning (I wasn't - no one had got back to me at end of last week when I chased, so I could have had a wasted journey (of an hour in the morning), for ticking off 1 frog job (resigning from job 2), for sorting stuff to leave - couple of sales and piles for CS - will have a drop off session at various points this afternoon so that it is gone for good, for sunflowers in the garden. Today was a spend day - I purchased some T-shirts for myself from Gape. I thought I’d put enough in the basket to qualify for free delivery. But after getting my receipt, I saw that i was 2p below the threshold for free delivery and that I’d been charged £4. I emailed the retailer and they thankfully refunded the delivery! I also sold DS’s scooter for £5 on gummytree.Started the 4 week course of 3 different nasal sprays this morning and I’ve been ticking off what I’ve taken on my chart (drawn with the use of a dvd case). 1 day down. 27 to go.Was feeling pretty low earlier but picked up a bit. I swallowed the frog at work, I gave myself an easy day at work, I listened to the radio and might’ve wiggled a little to the music. I didn’t manage to listen to my audiobook, but I sort of did a walk. After dinner OH and I strolled as DS zoomed along on his balance bike. We came home and DS practiced pedalling on his first proper bike. It’s taking him a wee bit of time to get the motion of pedalling forward but he will get there.Grateful for tea in bed, tea in the afternoon, and the tea I’ll have before bed. 😂

Today I am grateful for finding the items for dd in town, for there not being too many people around, for a helpful and cheerful chap in spocsavers, for swallowing a couple of large tadpoles, for the clover flourishing where grass hasn't been mown.
