EON Massive bill?

I suspect this may be a meter that has been used on E7 tariff at some point and the total import figure shown on the IHD is the total of both registers, but for whatever reason BG has been billing on the first register total which will be the only one that has been increasing. It should be possible to see the registers on the meter itself, but it is not easy to get to the right screens. If we could find out which model of E470 it is that would help...1

Then one way or another you have a big bill to pay, but yes, should be cheaper to settle it with BG.Technically what you are doing is opening a dispute over the adjusted meter reading used for the switch and you have that right as the difference exceeds the allowed maximum (... by a huge amount).E.ON should handle it from here, but you may have to work with BG a little to get the excess apportioned properly across the new and old tariff....0

Thanks for your help looking at my previous readings they have been pretty consistent. So it looks like BG has ether been estimating them the whole time or there equipment was transmitting the readings back wrong. I know I will have to pay it but do you think I have any kind of case against BG getting me into this debt?0

@mikejay Do you look at your IHD (in-home display, the monitor thingy) on on a regular basis or was this the first time you'd read it? Was the IHD reading 19000-ish throughout Jan/Feb/Mar?Does your smart meter give you the same number as the IHD?

Somehow your meter reading has jumped by 3363kWh overnight.Someone else suggested that your meter is set up wiith two registers (as though it was for E7) and BG were only reading one of them. If you could read the meter direct that might tell you?On the plus side, if your reading on Monday was 24502 you've used 1147kWh in 3 months, which is around 12kWh per day and roughly consistent with the same period in 2020.N.
