Perhaps if we keep bumping this thread every day, folks might get the message!

Sorry, folks, I'm with EdNotDave on this.

There are so many 'Wannas' that get posted here, it's not possible for the BGs to move them all.

Sometimes mistakes can be made, people can often post in the wrong section. Do you really need to start a thread moaning about it? Why don't you just direct the poster ''nicely'' to the correct section, easily done.

Because as I pointed out yesterday in the forum suggestion thread 10 out of the top 12 messages were in the wrong forum and when you do suggest nicely that someone posts in the correct forum you then have to spend lots of time being responsed to with comments about moaning.

Bottom line is - if you want to know where to buy something, please use the I wanna buy it or do it board, here, cos that's what it's there for.

Shop but don't drop is meant to be "for all your shopping and bargain tips"....

    Thanks for answering my question.

Perhaps the board guides could add this to the list of info in the sticky "posting on the shop but don't drop board"
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=24286
Before asking my original question I looked at the sticky on this board titled "posting on the shop but don't drop board" to see the guidelines and it didn't say anything along the lines of
"don't post 'I wanna' posts on this board - go to this board instead."
although it does have lots of other helpful tips

Then you can direct people to that sticky when you politely tell them they are posting in the wrong place.
  • Hi

Just some thoughts on this from me.

It's worth considering that the number of "wrongly placed" threads may not be increasing. As it's heading towards Christmas our volunteer board guides who do a great job are probably busy doing other things so aren't getting on here as much as they usually do to move threads over to other boards. So it's likely that whereas you normally don't see them on here before they're moved over, at the moment you are. If you want one moved over just hit that red triangle as Deanos says and that'll be sorted.

Plus, it's not the case of threads being on the "wrong" board, it's just that people may get more replies, ideas and suggestions in answer to their question if they were posted on another board.

Just something to add into the mix

    Andrea :)

Fair enough - I was just trying to get more posts in the most appropriate places, which would help everyone find what they want. What I don't understand, is why some people feel the need to argue abusively about it - would they do that if Martin had asked?

No, it doesn't, but neither does it say it on any other board, because it would be impossible to list all the exclusions on each and every board!

Anyway, at least now a few more people will be aware that there is a specific place to ask for things they would like, rather than telling others about things they have found...
