Sorry to hear of Poppet's additional problems, Jazee xx
Glad your husband has a date for his pre-assessment, nmm. I had to Google "worry worms" - they look cute!
Sorry you're having to subsidize BG, Honey Bear - but delighted that your decluttering success has brought joy free of charge to other people.
I am extremely frustrated by the login procedures for two websites on which I wish to view church accounts. One won't let me in at all, and the other has mixed up my personal and church accounts which I wanted to keep completely separate. GRRR! Email sent to one organisation, and I'll keep an eye on the situation with the other (I seem to remember that last time I tried to register it took a week for the account details to catch up with the office email).
Off to re-pot the tomatoes, give the lawn the snip and take out my frustration on some dead forget-me-nots

Jazee, this is not advice but for information. The drug used to treat Layla's thrombocytopenia is a cytotoxic drug and obviously therefore chemotherapy. I had a long conversation with the prescribing specialist vet about using it beofre she took the first pill because I've always been dead against putting animals through treatments we humans find it difficult to take. He was very clear about what would happen when she was put on it. She would either react badly and be very unhappy for a fortnight and then tolerate it extremely well, react badly and continue to do so permanently (in which case in his opinion it would be unethical to continue treatment) or she would sail through it with no side effects at all. Bear in mind at that stage she was effectively dying and would do so if she was injured in any way, or suffered an internal bleed, so it was her only hope. She sailed through it with no side effects at all and it was worth the risk because she'd only been out of the horrible conditions she's spent the first five years of her life in for a year, and I felt she deserved a shot at saving her life - in her case, in my opinion, it would have been unethical not to treat her with the cytotoxic drug. Even that vet said it was eye-wateringly expensive and he wasn't wrong, but she was insured so I could sort of afford it, although her insurance ran out three months before year end because of it. I've paid for a lot of blood work since and her premiums have gone up but she's as happy as any dog I've ever known, very loving and well worth every penny she costs us. I very much fear she will be on a low steroid dose for the rest of her life but that's not the worst thing that can happen to her given her past.Nmm, I loathe Windows 10 but as Vista still works on my main computer I'm adapting to it at my own pace - I also have to use it at the Foodbank. When my old computer dies because Vista stops functioning I won't be replacing it so I'm going to have to use W10 for a long, long time. I have no plans to upgrade, and frankly thought that Windows 95 was more than capable of doing everything I ever needed, so I now count myself as something of a Luddite when it comes to computers, having been a real evangalist about them for decades. No, not seen W11 yet, but have heard alarming noises about it from somewhere. Anyway, you're now outed as someone who has computer knowledge, so sorry about that!Better is good enough.10

Hello everyone xx
I'm here...waves to everyone xx
I eventually got hold of the consultant's secretary - and she was extremely unhelpful and snotty with it. So I'll see what happens on Thursday at my appointment at the Eye Clinic. I've swapped my days so I'm at work on Monday and off on Thursday. I now have a one legged Boris hanging in my eye. Heard this week that a friend's sister has had a brain tumour removed, and another friend's stepson died of covid on Wednesday..... that put a dodgy eye into perspective!!! 👀
I've made my bed, fed the birds, put out the recycling, FUPA last week's washing, sorted this week's washing and set WM swishing.
I was always told that I can't sing, and it grieves me because I love singing. I decided to record myself this morning....and I'm pleasantly surprised. One or two cringeworthy moments- can't hit high notes- but the next time it's someone's birthday I won't be miming. And I'm going to practice carol singing so I can join in instead of miming. Watch out ears of the world 🙉
Love to all

Hi everyone, Hope everyone is doing ok. It's a while since I posted on here (hope it's ok for me to sneak back in) as I have been stressed with finishing my degree (conservation biology) but I have now received my letter of completion and got my graduation (virtual) at the end of this month. Somehow whilst completing my studies I have also managed to clear all my debt (except student debt but it's a start) and get myself a little job over the summer to do alongside freelance work.
It's a bit of an overcast day weather-wise so think it's a day for catching up with admin/flying tasks.
Do a load of laundry
Read through some posts on here
Put food out for the birds.
Look into setting up bank accounts for my kids
Write an article for my freelance client
Check work hours for next week & update diary
Have a look for paperwork for bank account that needs followed up.
Meal plan for next week
Speak to the eldest about student bank accounts, as he is off to college in September.
Look into postgrad finances as going back to uni to study a masters in September and start budget planning
Dust and hoover the living room
Think that is enough for me to tackle in one day, baby steps

Thanks for sharing your experience with Layla HB. Very useful.
I have refilled vases and done most of the admin. I will tackle more tomorrow.
Going harvesting in the garden next. So much growing and family can take some home with them.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Round I love the idea of you recording yourself to listen to your singing voice, it made me smile. When we were doing zoom meetings I used to cringe at listening back to recordings of myself speaking, never mind singing! Sorry to hear your eye is still causing trouble, and the other stuff x
Well done MMM I finished a qualification that I had to do for work last year and really dont feel inspired to do any more studying.
So, my Saturday. Well DH has gone to work so its me and the dog all day. I have checked the finance spreadsheets and hoovered and dusted upstairs. I have also spoken to MIL on the phone. Next is some food shopping and garden weeding, or the other way around. I have sorted some paperwork and have some bits to file away. Oh and I want to try and get out for a walk too.
I have realised this morning that I cant fit all my clothes in my wardrobe, and there is nothing really that doesnt fit or isnt good enough to wear. I must stop buying clothes, even from charity shops/sales/ebay. I just have too many.
Tommorrow is a trek to the big city to pick DS2 up from his old student house, we will then take him back to his new place on Thursday. I am being a wuss and insisting on DH driving for both journeys, I am a nervous wreck about driving into the big city, in fact since lockdown I have lost my nerve driving anywhere really.
Catch you later, I have a shopping list to write!10 -
Huge congratulations, MMM! You've covered a lot of ground in your absence - welcome back.I've eaten the frog that is on the list as 'Tidy yard'. It involved a lot of gibble shifting to and fro, emptying one of the tumbling composters which are both going great guns and producing a healthy amount between them every three weeks, and swept and washed it at last. There's a slight sprinkling of soggy potting compost around the house from Layla's paws (she does so love to help), so I've got to wait for that to dry before I can vacuum it up, but the froggie job is now done. Layla also managed to dig in one huge pot and then overturn both that and another pot with compost in which made the whole job take a lot longer. I may have told her she's naughty but it's so wonderful to see her enthusiasm for life on the outside of a crate.Belovéd spread all of the compost around the fig trees which are clearly benefitting from their first feed since they were planted 25 years ago - they've both got masses and masses of figs on this year which are ripening beautifully. The apple tree has billions of tiny apples on it for the first time in years and the pear is it's usual bountiful self. I've been taking applettes and pearlets off as fast as I can for weeks. I had no idea tumbling composters existed but if you've got cats that use a litter tray I highly recommend using woodshavings, removing every scrap of dog chocolate before the dog gets a chance to alert us to the fact that it's available to her, and then composting the soggy woodshavings along with the peelings etc from the kitchen. It doesn't look as dark as the stuff without it, but I can tell from the smell when it's ready to use and the communal garden is looking better than it has in years.Belovéd has also stripped the be and left me to remake it so I'll do that at some point after I've had a bit of a break. I've lost my favourite mug today somewhere in the house or yard, but as I hate looking for things it'll be interesting to see where I put it along the way this morning when it eventually turns up.Better is good enough.10

YL - I sent the recording to a friend just saying I'm about to bend your ears... no explanation or anything. She has messaged me back:'What on earth is that?' Maybe I will carry on miming after all. 🤣🙉
Second load swishing, first load on the airer.

Round.. OH has the worst singing voice I have ever heard in my life and I LOVE listening to him sing because he loves it.. don't stop doing the things you love for other people. the joy it brings you is enough reason to continue.. the irony being his family are all in church choirs. Keep singing. I am a very loud 80's ballad kinda girl..
