I have done various bitty admin jobs and have made a start on cleaning the living room. I now know for certain that the racket I hear the other Monday was a bird in the house as more evidence turned up (feathers). By the time I had got downstairs the day I hear the noise (a Monday) it had gone. I just need to dust the hearth and the TV and complete the vacuuming and it is done.

Ha GI ask anyone married to a tradesman and they will tell you that their house is the last one to get anything done on it! Hope DH feels better soon.
Pigpen my youngest doesnt seem to be able to find a job, even though he says he is applying for lots of them. He doesnt live here so is not under my feet but we are going to have to help him over the summer with his rent if he cant find something.
Long day at the paid stuff, have already done my hours for the week but I have so much to do. Stir fry made for tea, a load of washing dried and put away. There is stuff that needs doing but I am flagging suddenly. First night this week I havent needed to work late so I am quite looking forward to just putting my feet up.12 -
Full on day at work yesterday. As I only get paid when I am there, I’m not really complaining, as the last couple of months have been a bit lean. Today I have flown - I know, astounding, right??
Bedding changed, washed, dried outside, ironed and neatly stacked in the airing cupboard. Bathrooms all cleaned. DD’s physio appointment decluttered, followed by a treat for me and her of a local cafe’s veggie takeaway which we ate in Mr W’s car park! Hospital phoned, appointment rearranged and a copy of a missing letter emailed. Dinner cooked, DH has WULTD and the dw is on. Why does it all look so litfle when written down?
A big pile of admin awaits, but I have had it for this evening, so it can continue to wait a bit longer. My car passed its MOT and is now taxed again for another year, so the most urgent admin job has been ticked off.
GI - you might still have a long wait - last week the plasterer boarded over and plastered the hole in our small bedroom ceiling. It had been there since we moved in, 15 years ago….10 -
and the living room is cleaned...the house looks SO much better. I've also run the vacuum round the hall and the dining room, next week it's 4 full days at work so IF I can do my bedroom, the hall, stairs and landing and the dining room this weekend that would be excellent. DD is coming up this weekend so I need to vacate the 'study'.
I've got to move MY lego lol.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

It has been ONLY 5 years with the hole in my bedroom ceiling!
Thank you for the GWS wishes for DH. He is feeling a lot better, but still not 100%. Men do like to feel sorry for themselves though!! He is ok, but moping around and not doing much!! He did empty the DW earlier though.....
YL I know what you are saying about tradesmen and their own homes....my uncle was a chippyHowever, the BFs dad is a bit of a workaholic. They have been redoing their kitchen - it is out of this world!! Luckily his work ethic has rubbed off on his son
Speaking to them today, it looks like they will be moving in for real a bit sooner than DD2 was first saying - much to DS's delight! I think I will message the plasterer and get him round for a quote! We may be decorating sooner that planned!
I managed to rehome some kitchen bits this afternoon to DD2, but it hasn't really made a dent. Washing line dried, FUPA.
I am going to do some admin now while I have the laptop open.
Hugs, sticks & spoons to those that need them.11 -
YL.. I need them to help with my household bills.. I am just going to have to demand more of their UC I think.. I am really struggling. These claim to be looking for jobs but I don't believe them.. in 3 years they would have had at least 1 interview surely? DS2 had an interview with Asda, they told him he had a job and that was the last he heard from them. They didn't send any further details. He contacted them a few times and they apologised and said they would be in touch and they never were.. the jobcentre behaved appallingly over that one. They had interviews for jobs I had applied for.. Boog got the factory job but they didn't let him deal with his diabetes and he nearly ended up in hospital a few times so the diabetes nurse signed him off permanently and it is on his medical records he is not to work in that environment.. They just don't seem to be trying and it is very annoying and makes me feel utterly unappreciated and unsupported after everything I do for them they won't even make the effort to support themselves financially as adults.. see. it makes me grump lol. They will get a shock when I move out!
That said OH is hating his job and is refusing to apply for others as well, though he applied for a supermarket delivery driver and one at specsavers this week.. very different jobs but hopefully someone will come back to him.
WM on
Washing hung up to dry.. OH's work stuff..
DW been on
Pack ups made, OH is just finding uniforms.
OH can them make a cuppa and I am going upstairs, there is a pile of washing to fold waiting for my company and 2 ebeast parcels to wrap so I will do those too.. 3 to post tomorrow.

Evening all.
Hope all is well with asb and round.
How's your leg, pigpen?
Sounds like you've had a productive day, Fayolle!
My friend A brought lunch with her and stayed for 3 hours, which was very nice but also quite wearing - her English is poor and my Greek is almost non-existent, so I have to concentrate hard when she talks. But we looked at photos and walked round the garden (still not weeded!) and she was happy, so that 's good. She has brought me a cutting from her fig treeAfter she'd gone I decluttered a 1-hour Zoom meeting which was surprisingly informative and helpful, took Rosie for her walk, cooked deconstructed piperade for tea (i.e. scrambled egg with a dollop of something approaching ratatouille), and then sat down and watched rubbish TV for the evening.
Apart from watering the jungle on the window sill, the stairs and landing haven't been touched, but they will be done tomorrow at the same time as the bedrooms and hoovering the bathroom - then I shall have cleaned the whole house this weekTomorrow is due to start with rain, so hopefully I shall have time to finish some more of my bitty admin and then hopefully get out into the garden when the sun comes out later. On the other hand, DH might remember that I had agreed to his suggestion of lunch at the forest cafe.
Covid caused so much delay to the decorator's jobs that he won't be coming to us until November, but that's OK. We can live a while longer with the stain on the LR ceiling that was caused by the leak through the split flashing on the dormer last summer. At least it's not a hole!
Sleep well x9 -
Good morning!
Iona it is surprising how long you can live with a hole too! 😂 (although, to be fair, it isn't the LR) On that note, I have messaged the plasterer this morning 😁
DW emptied and is running on a clean cycle. DH has walked the dog. I'm not sure he is going to achieve much else!
Paid stuff today, so I will see what I can fit in around picking up toys, reading books, picking up toys, singing, picking up toys, feeding, etc.
Have a good day everyone 😁9 -
