Thank you piggers - you are right. Singing full bore in the car has been a favourite pastime of mine for a long time. And DS didn't complain- he joined in.
Must fly harder tomorrow

A fairly varied and sort of productive day.
Did a lot of gardening, the list is getting shorter (although needs revising, when no doubt it will double in size). While Mr N and I were 'resting' by the pond - ok I admit there were choc ices involved - a fairly large hedgehog emerged from the shed area and trundled into the hedge. We haven't seen one for ages, although what it was doing at that time of day I don't know.
Wrote a bit more of a report.
Went for a run. My slowest non-park run yet; my legs ached (Body Pump on Wednesday? Gardening?) and it was more humid than I'd anticipated. Oh well it's better than not going at all.
Gathered foliage for the arrangement I have to do tomorrow.
Did some drum practice.
Got 2 loads of washing done, hung out and brought in, including bed linen, towels and 2 sets of bath mats.
Froze another load of chard.
Tried to get my head round the change of pension details, but seems I have lost a page.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Hello, I’m still here, not sure where the past couple of days went.
Welcome back MMM, and well done on all you have achieved.
Round - you keep belting out those songs at the top of your voice - I want to hear you from darn sarf and maybe even join in. A flylady singalong!
Friday was another busy day at work. Slinky is going to escape me forever judging by the number of cakes and biscuits floating around the office atm, especially with so few of us there for various reasons. I famously have no willpower when it comes to cake.DD went out with her friends to a small city for the evening, which was a bit of an expedition, so I was on tenterhooks until I knew that they had actually got the last bus back and were safely picked up back to her friend’s house. They seem to have had a good time which was lovely. Yesterday morning was spent retrieving her from the depths of the county and driving her back the opposite direction to do half a day at work. YL - I am so with you on the whole driving thing, aggression seems to be the name of the game since lockdown. Having said that, I did have a beautiful drive there and back across some spectacular countryside, and I only took the wrong turn once.
DH and I spent a couple of hours at the allotment yesterday while DD was at work. He has dug most of it, but it looks very sorry for itself. Not a lot is growing, and what is struggling on doesn’t look very happy.
I’m trying very hard to justify this post by thinking of some flying over the past couple of days - beyond the usual wm runs, I am struggling! Today I have an ironing pile to clear, wm is already running but it is damp and misty out so no outdoor drying today.
The new plaster is pretty much dry, so DH and I need to argue discuss what happens next, including flingage which is not his strong point.8 -
MorningWe are showered and dressed, toast being eaten, a conversation along the lines of I would like to walk to the local car boot is currently being had (it is at the bottom of the road about a 10 to 15 mins away, so I think it is a good idea, if OH runs out of steam
I am close enough to sort of run home and get the car to bring him back.
I want to go to the beach, as it was a very high spring tide, which means there should be quite a bit of wood washed up, so if someone can tell me which FL song we need to belt out today, I can do it down there as I doubt there will be many tourists there as it is overcast and quite cold ATMMaybe someone could put together a playlist/ belting out song / while flying type list one song per dayI've put the recycling out and started the DW, made a small shopping listTotally P**sed off with the gov. minsters / advisors who think it is ok to flout the laws, when we have been in for months and months, making do with whatsapp / texts/ emails etc they need locking up and the key chucking away.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Good morning ladies xx
It's been said before, but I'm going to say it again, you are the most amazing group of women, and I'm blessed to call you my friends. The speed at which you can take a negative and turn it into a positive is magical. ❤
I'm happy to put together a playlist and post a song each morning - please send me your suggestions. Today I'm going to belt out 'I am the one and only' by Chesney Hawkes. Other songs are available 🤣
Flying? Another slow start for me. Point blank refused to get up when I woke up at 5.55 am.....and the next minute it was 9.15 am!!!! Maybe we should be singing 'Time Warp'. 😉 I've made my bed, and had some toast and two brews. Perhaps I ought to get dressed next.
Love to all

Morning all. I'm always singing along and dancing too. I should be slinky!

I sing in the kitchen mainly where the radio lives. The smalls are always in awe when I sing the first lines before they begin.. how do you know all the words to all the songs??... lol
We need a 'singing for joy' group.. where we can howl like cats and no one cares.

A while back, I seem to remember one of our lovely leaders (Valli, I think?) putting a song link on each day’s list for a week. I religiously sang along on the day, even if I didn’t actually do any of the list 🤣. For what it’s worth, DD and I were belting out Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together in the car yesterday - always therapeutic, I find! Otherwise I can rock ballad with the best of them - as long as you don’t expect in-tune…
Wm x 2 done, HHI x 2, WUPA, swept kitchen floor, kitchen sink cleaned. DH is striding around, sounding busy, but I know it is all pretence. I am dog tired from too many nights in the WAC lately, plus my book is unputdownable, so I am sneaking time on the sofa with my book. Sshhhhh, don’t tell anyone…9 -
Good afternoon everyone, I've enjoyed a nice long sleep this morning, as my body was needing the rest. It's a lovely sunny day here so I will aim to get a few jobs ticked off my outdoor list.
My list for today:- Finish writing article for a freelance client
- Make back-to-school shopping lists for kids and get an idea of prices
- Get rid of the plants that were grown for my dissertation.
- Speak to DH regarding dismantling the greenhouse
- Speak to DH regarding booking slot at the recycling centre, as needing to declutter a few items
- HH me time
- Put food out for the birds.
- Look for paperwork for the bank account that needs to get sorted out.
- Spend an hour working on the shredding pile (I've got a large box in the office of paper that needs shredded).
- Catch up with the ironing pile
- Empty the bins in the office, bathroom, and bedroom
- Go for a run in the car and check out a new car that I'm eyeing up in a local garage (new me I'm saving up the money rather than turning to finance, whilst telling myself if it meant to be my next car it will still be there when I have the cash).
- Check the diary for next week, get work bag sorted out for tomorrow, and set the alarm

(And quite a bit more, but I'll forbear.)Flying - the yard stil looks cleanish and tidy and I have planted courgette, parsley, basil and thyme seeds because someone (Narco?) on here (I think) said the good thing about planting seeds in June is that they come up immediately. Good call - I wondered if I was too late and that was all the impetus I needed, so thank you.As to the singing, I used to be able to hold a tune but am very out of practice and discovered to my horror that my voice kept cracking when I tried to sing again on Christmas Eve. I've been sort of trying to remember to do so when there's no one around so that should we repeat the carols in the garden this year with our resident musician on his trusty trumpet I can give voice confidently. I even remembered the harmonies I used to sing at school so it seems a waste not to. However, I will only commit to singing songs that I know, and I'm pretty out of date. Whoever was singing along to the Glitter Band a couple of days ago (Valli?) that's my era. Just because he's not okay doesn't mean I have less affection for the music. I loved glam rock. We used to have a glam rock busker in Plymouth who usually stood outside Woolworths and he always got all of my shrapnel as I passed by. Excellent stuff. As for the slinky thing, I'll 'fess us now - I'm no slinkier than I was at the beginning of June. It's frustrating - I gave up smoking after 30 years on willpower alone, I gave up booze on willpower after enjoying it far, far too much for a good 20 years, but I cannot give up or cut down on sugar. It is seriously addictive stuff and I am feeling pretty powerless over it but am still determined to find a way of getting my head around it. This bulge will disappear if when I crack it so if anyone has any anti-sugar information I'd be grateful if you could point me in the right direction. The answer in my case isn't slimming world - Belovéd really enjoys the food we eat and it's extremely healthy stuff, he's slim, it's just my constant failure to curb my sugar cravings mid-afternoon that's the problem.Better is good enough.10
