Thank you for your comments about the dodgy software message. I'm on it but have every reason to believe it is genuine. We've discussed it with our techie who supplies and manages our computers and it appears to be genuine but we're not doing anything for at least three weeks. Kaz, your suggestion is one I hadn't thought of trying so I'll pop over to the Techie boards later just to check and confirm what I think is going on. It's my Windows 10 laptop that's affected, but not the Windows Vista desktop I use, which is no longer supported by Microsoft anyway, and works just fine. I loathe Windows 10, so none of this is filling me with any kind of joy.One load's finished in the WM and I've made some decisions about how to declutter some excess gardening gibble. It's too much faff to photograph and Gumtree most of it so I'm putting it out on the pavement with a Free sign on it - it's all useful to someone else, doesn't cost that much anyway and every scrap I've put out there over the last few years has disappeared in about 20 minutes. Solves my problem and helps someone else, so that seems like a Win:Win to me. We're off to the dump with a knackered freezer later today so if the pavement trick doesn't work all of it will be taken to the dump at the same time. I can't wait to have the space!Better is good enough.9

Morning all.
So far I have done some reading, showered and dressed, eaten breakfast, S&S'd the kitchen and bathroom, tidied the LR and made two phonecalls. The first was to my computer man because I had a message to say I needed to update my password - but I don't have a password on the PC! - and the second, to a friend, lasted 3/4 of an hour.
Incidentally, the password message was a new feature of Windows 10, but my computer man told me not to type anything in the Old or New Password boxes and just to press Enter two or three times, and it let me in without any more hassle.
I still have some bits of admin to do, and I still need to go to the bank, so those are my priorities right now.
This afternoon I *will* plant out my tomatoes. Then when the sun has moved round and the border is in the shade, I want to clear the forget-me-nots and do some weeding; also the lawn needs edging properly, which will improve the look of the garden no end.
The LR might or might not get attention today. Probably not!9 -

I'm not making much headway with my extensive list. I have been to the vets and rescheduled the afternoon tea - new time still doesn't suit so I need to reschedule again.

We have internet at a decent speed, time will tell how stable it is. Have managed to reconnect my pc, ipad and phone, OH seems to be sorted too, now just need to see if the printer needs any attention or not. Have even managed to reset and rejoin the booster box so hopefully will still get a signal upstairs.
Hours sent off for this month
DW unloaded
Lunch cooked and eaten
Walk done

Council informed of our intention to home educate and school place rammed up their sorry behinds.. I am still cross lol.

Mimi off, DS1 on..Cats fed and fussed, they are very needy today. I want to get a big tray and fill it with grass for them to lay in.. They don't have any in their pen
WM's filled with the dirty stuff lying about but not full enough to put on.

Been a busy old day in Valliland - and the grimness retreats. Today I have pegged out two washloads and got them dry, cleaned the kitchen as per Monday's list, including a full fridge clean, and the bathroom as per Tuesday's list. Rabbit hutch cleaned and put to rights again. All bins emptied, household waste bin out ready to be emptied at sparrow's cough. Meters have been read and reported to Octopus. Teeny tiny amounts of both gas and electricity used this month.
Cat was taken to vets, checked and given flea tablets and a worming tablet. She swallows them whole no problem - but I hand feed her Dreamies as a treat so when it's tablet time I do a Dreamy-tablet-dreamy pattern and down they go! Not the date for the flea tablets but the worm tablet has been swallowed. I rearranged our afternoon tea and then rearranged it again so now we go in July. I've also gone through some work stuff and sorted a pile, too - so there has been shredding and recycling. Another smoke detector battery needs replacing so I have added it to my shopping list - it's the upstairs landing one now. Might get some new catflap batteries while I'm at it - I think they failed too.
Blood test tomorrow morning - part of the pneumonia/hospital regime.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Very quiet couple of days.. I hope that means everyone is well and living life to the fullest!!
It decided to rain while I was getting the girls brushed for schol so I had a quick dash to bring in yesterdays washing.2 listings done.. I need lots of quids in the next week and have had to dip into Dots assessment money today to cover bills.. OH is paid next Friday but I just need the 2 upstairs bears to get jobs.. I am sure they would rather do that than take on running the household and doing the school runs
DD1 had Lionel at allergy clinic on Monday, he has epipens etc now as he is anaphylactic to eggs and non-IGE to milk.. that is going to make things fun, though we have been assuming that much anyway and had him dairy and egg free for a while. Jasper was milk-free too so it isn't much difference. We are waiting to hear about soya but I already stock vegan ice creams and soya free so we are probably the only people she would trust to care for him.. Nothing is ever simple in this family!
OH been asked to go into work early but the town is at a standstill due to bridges being open, and a couple are stuck so no one is going anywhere apparently.. fortunately he isn't going east to west.. he is going north to south so should be able to slide through.. bit pointless though, if he can't get to work diners can not get there either.. nor the delivery he is going to check in... time shall reveal all.
Cuppa first then I might think about house stuff.

Good morning
DH is still feeling unwell. His PCR came back negative, which is good. I only lost one day of work waiting for the result! He is still off work, but at least he is up and dressed!
Paid stuff today. Dog has been walked, 1 load in WM which I will hang out in a while. I need to cross some things off my list to make me feel more in control!!
DD2 & BF have now spent 3 nights in their flat - with no furniture, carpet or curtains except a few camping chairs & a blow up mattress! They have had the cooker removed, a fridge (freebie) delivered and I have bought them a combi microwave as a house warming present. I think they will start the DIY this week. They have decided against removing a chimney breast, which will mean less mess. It needs rewiring, a new boiler and a blimmin' good scrub! Luckily, BF is working for his dad's building firm so they have all the contacts and favours are being called in by his dadI am beginning to think I should have dated him, and I might get some of the bits finished in this house!!
(did I mention the hole in my bedroom ceiling that has been there for several years now!?)
Ok - early lunch for the little one, and then it's his nap time.
Have a good day everyone!10 -
Morning everyone (just)
Sorry to hear your DH is still unwell, GI. GWS vibes on the way.
So far I have
- emptied the DW and started re-filling it with the breakfast dishes and mugs
- dusted and hoovered the LR, kitchen, DR and hall. Rosie lay on her back to get a tummy tickle, so I plucked out another handful of her moulting undercoat before hoovering!
- sorted DH's stocking
- checked finances
- sent 2 emails
- made a phonecall
- taken a phonecall from my Greek friend A who has invited herself round to lunch and will bring battered fish and salad for all of us (bye-bye to hopes of a good weight loss this week - but at least I managed to persuade her "No chips for us, please")
Half an hour left before lunch arrives, so I'd better get a move on. Catch up later x
