HB.. I am an evening snacker.. I get a 10cal jelly pot, alpro plain yoghurt and chocolate chips. it is weirdly filling and sweet with fewer calories and much less sugar than the packet of biscuits or umpteen packs of crisps I would eat.. I also eat a LOT of apples.. I am turning horse!! It is recommended to drink 2 glasses of water before looking at snacks because humans often mistake thirst for hunger.. Slimming world (compared to WW) is very high in carbs and sugars (I did a lot of research into these) however, WW is low in iron (less red meats) unless you take a supplement or loads and loads and loads of dark green leaves long term it will cause a problem. Yes they work for SOME people.. but they are not for everyone and I for one was very very ill following a vague WW for a few months.. remember when I had the stomach ulcer/severe anaemia/Vit D deficient/calciumdeficient.. yeah.. I think everything inmoderation and actually familiarising yourself with a portion size, which is about 1/3rd what we normally dish up is the way to go.. will we truly miss 1 potato or a teaspoon of beans??
Snacks.. I go for something proper first before the sugary stuff.. it is a forced thing, I really don't want it but I have that first.. and a drink and maybe distract my belly with activities, or go out where there is no food.. it is hard work and sugar is extremely addictive and you get nasty headaches if you just cut it out completely. Sugar in my tea was the biggest thing for me.. I was having shed loads.
Speaking of food.. the girls are going to die of starvation they said .. they haven't eaten for 2 whole hours!
And because I just love this.. OH and Miss Sqiuzz (Grandpink) with twinsy hair do's .. I just love how happy he makes her.. honestly he could not love these children and grandchildren more if they were his actual blood relativesI am so very blessed.

Fayolle said:A while back, I seem to remember one of our lovely leaders (Valli, I think?) putting a song link on each day’s list for a week. I religiously sang along on the day, even if I didn’t actually do any of the list 🤣. For what it’s worth, DD and I were belting out Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together in the car yesterday - always therapeutic, I find! Otherwise I can rock ballad with the best of them - as long as you don’t expect in-tune…
Wm x 2 done, HHI x 2, WUPA, swept kitchen floor, kitchen sink cleaned. DH is striding around, sounding busy, but I know it is all pretence. I am dog tired from too many nights in the WAC lately, plus my book is unputdownable, so I am sneaking time on the sofa with my book. Sshhhhh, don’t tell anyone…

Thanks Pigpen. I know the problem is sugar, not our regular meals or portion sizes. Whenever I have a sugarfree week Iose 2lbs but I just can't make myself get past the 3.00 - 6.00 pm time slot without eating sugar at the moment. I've made myself a quick hummus with tinned chickpeas and preserved lemons which did the trick yesterday but any sugar makes me want more. I have got to get past this because I am 'stocky' at best now, having been slim all my life, until I gave up smoking. Giving up the booze was a nightmare because the sugar content is so high that I've been keeping up with the same volume but in chocolate instead of liquid form. So, thank you for your low cal snack suggestions.
Better is good enough.9 -
Hi all
Gorgeous photo Pigpen, look at those smiles. Wish I could get a smiley photo of DS2, he seems to think looking serious on photos makes him look better!
So, we drove to the big city to get DS2, DH missed the crucial turning, and we ended up in the middle of the city. It was a nightmare and shouting ensued with us both blaming each other. Eventually got to DSs house to collect his stuff. One of his housemates has already moved out and didnt do any cleaning before she left. The place was filthy. Apparently they have to pay a cleaning fee if it isnt spotless when they leave, but honestly it would have taken me a full day and I did rather think that it wasnt just up to me. I did my best with the oven, hob and splashback, wiped the cupboard fronts, and cleaned the outside of the appliances while DH and DS loaded the car. DS will clean the bathroom and kitchen floor and will get his other housemate to do the inside of the fridge and LR. The bedrooms look fine.
All of DSs stuff is now dumped in his brothers bedroom, ready to go back again on Thursday. I have put his bedding on a hot wash with a splash of bleach, I have no idea when it was last washed!!!
So other than that, and a jog/walk down the lane first thing, that's my Sunday. My windows need washing, think thats on the list for this week. Feet up and brew now.9 -

It is hard enough to get photos of my big lot.. I tell them I need pics where they look human otherwise hiw am I supposed to send the police looking for them if they go missing? lol
You should see the pics of DD2 though.. how I made something that pretty is beyond me..

Sorry I’ve been missing but flying. It is a big week ahead. Lots of furniture is being collected by a charity tomorrow from DG’s.
DS2 is moving on Wednesday and the placement isn’t ideal but there was no choice. We visited him and helped him start packing. He has been crying and ranting for 1.5 hours this evening on the phone. I see it will be a distressing week.7 -

This afternoon and evening I have
- decluttered some zzz and felt a lot better for it
- taken Rosie for her favourite walk and posted two cards on the way
- decluttered weeds and dead forget-me-nots in 1/4 of the back garden borders: I can now see the lawn edgeIt is my intention that the garden will be my main area of flying this coming week, provided that the rain avoids us (we are exactly on the north-south border according to the BBC weather map!)
- cooked a new recipe for tea, which DH says was so good that he would like to have it again sometime
- watched a very interesting programme on maps
- deleted a few more emails
- started to plough through 36 pages of agenda and papers for a meeting tomorrow evening
See you all on the new thread xx8 -
Well, I'm calling it a day and it's been reasonably productive, although my short drive to the local garage to looked at a potential new car ended up being a full afternoon with a trip to the beach and ice cream with the kids (some much needed family time).
- Finish writing article for a freelance client - Need to finish this in the morning
- Make back-to-school shopping lists for kids and get an idea of prices
- Get rid of the plants that were grown for my dissertation.
- Speak to DH regarding dismantling the greenhouse
- Speak to DH regarding booking slot at the recycling centre, as needing to declutter a few items - Very productive discussion as actually booked a slot for next week.
- HH me time
- Put food out for the birds.
- Look for paperwork for the bank account that needs to get sorted out. - I need to continue looking as still can't find it.
- Spend an hour working on the shredding pile (I've got a large box in the office of paper that needs shredded).
- Catch up with the ironing pile
- Empty the bins in the office, bathroom, and bedroom
- Go for a run in the car and check out a new car that I'm eyeing up in a local garage (new me I'm saving up the money rather than turning to finance, whilst telling myself if it meant to be my next car it will still be there when I have the cash).
- Check the diary for next week, get work bag sorted out for tomorrow, and set the alarm
