    Pay day today.

I am going to try and keep myself accountable on here to ensure I try and make it work this month.

Yesterday was a disaster day. A huge leak in the kitchen that I was out for and the whole floor has now lifted and needs replacing. Every time I walk on it water seeps through the gaps. Emergency plumber came and fixed it, but as always, there is a cost to that. I am gutted about the flooring though. That will cost a fair bit. I could claim on insurance but the excess would make it not worth it and then higher premiums.

I then had a huge row with DD's dad. He just doesn't listen and puts money first.

I am marking loads, thankfully and will now ask for more to try and cover the flooring cost. I didn't want to do any more after today's because I am getting tired, but needs must. At least I have an option of now trying to pay for the floor.

Payday for marking will be the 31st July. That will be a very welcome amount.

Here's hoping I get through this month unscathed.

What a nightmare with the leak! Sometimes I wonder why we bother with insurance as it's often not worth it to make a claim. I guess it would come into its own for major disasters though. I hope you can earn the flooring money back through marking.

    As for DD's dad 😡

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪

Agree, to claim would have meant waiting for their plumber and getting three quotes when I already know who I want to fix it. We are going for water proof this time so if it happens again, the floor isn't ruined.

I am now 100% resolute that DD's dad can not think of anything other than what is best for him. I am not even angry or feeling any emotion this morning. That is how I know I am completely done.

Almost finished this latest round of extras. More will be requested tonight ready for tomorrow and Thursday.

Today should be a no spends day as DD has no club tonight.

Well my good intentions never manage to stay good!

Some of the house work has been brought forward due to a cancellation. However, I don't get my marking money that will pay for it until the last day in July, so I have had to use my wages, which will likely have some implications. The cost of the labour is covered by savings, it is the products that aren't! So typical, but I don't want to refuse the cancellation time slot either.

    I will make it work.

DD has her end of year reward trip just booked as well. That was £25, nothing really.

We have the theatre the weekend she finishes for holidays, but that and the train tickets are all paid for already. I will just need a little spending money.

Some of the bills are out. Mortgage is the 3rd and then the rest are around the 15th/16th. Mortgage payment is already covered in another account. The money was transferred yesterday.

I have asked for more work but there isn't the full range available now. I have only be allocated 3 parts instead of the 6 that were available. It is better than nothing and I making the most of it. I should finish these latest ones tomorrow. Hopefully there will be some more. That will pay for some of the water damage.

Did a lot of organising today. Items sent to the bin and recycled where possible. Found room in cupboards for some items and i now have a pile of things that would be great in a car boot.

I need to organise a skip as well. One of the sofas is badly damaged and I have a lot of garden stuff that needs to go. When the living room date is confirmed, I will order the skip and start to get rid of items.

    Hello

Just a thought re pay - when I worked on supply getting paid was NIGHTMARE. Eventually I "pretended" I got paid on the 1st of the month. I set up payments from the 1st to the 3rd and had one or two difficult months until there was money to cover stuff and then I just ran my month from the 1st regardless of what was going on.

I am sorry about the leak. Hope it all figures out. Lots of luck XX

    Nevertheless she persisted.

Mortgage is out, car payment is the next biggest and that is mid month. Most of the payments have come out now.

Money has been moved from savings to account to cover the work until July pay comes in.

Closed one bank account that I never use and have a credit account pending closure. I thought I had done it ages ago but it doesn't seem to have been actioned.

Decluttered the loft as well yesterday. The garage and loft are my big projects this year. Loft is almost done and garage will be done when the skip is here.

Hoping for a weekend without spending loads.

    Morning!

I have been up since 4.30am finishing my summer work. I am on the final final remnants now so trying to cash in as much as possible.

It has been a busy week with my normal jobs and then helping my neighbour prep for a prom balloon arch. I did a course in creating balloon displays and how to inflate properly etc a few months ago and have been doing some bits on the side. I haven't launched it properly yet, just waiting on another couple of things to happen before I do.

I spent some money on wool yesterday for DD to make her a blanket. I always planned to turn her baby clothes into a patchwork blanket, but when I was getting them out, realised how many she wouldn't like the feel of and what a waste of the remaining fabric. I spoke to DD about what I had planned and she said she would prefer it if I crocheted her a super soft blanket as a keepsake instead. I also found some charities desperate for baby clothes, so donated them. I kept some personal things like her coming home outfit and her first pair of shoes. That meant three crates in the loft suddenly became available.

DD has club today, and then I plan on relaxing. She has an early club tomorrow as well, so I will mark when she has gone to her dad's.

On Monday we are taking part in a national brass band event. It is where local brass bands visit schools and play. It is called proms in the playground. We have 6 to perform at. I won't be there the whole day as I am working, but will join them. The band also have a lunch together from the chippy, so DD is absolutely looking forward to that. She is also happy she has a day out of school. I need to make sure my music is in the right order!

Not had a quote for the kitchen floor yet.

Hoping for a very low spend weekend, I do need some bits of shopping, but not much.

Does anyone have a bank account where you can have different jars or pots set up?

Trying to get on top of my finances.

    Thanks
