there's several of those around. I don't use one, I just have my spreadsheet that has the various lines for all my various pots. Somebody will have advice if you need the separate account pots

    Thanks both.

When I was with my ex, we had one account for bills and one for our own personal income. We had separate accounts and would pay the money for bills into the joint. That worked perfectly as I always knew where I was. I might adopt a similar approach as currently things aren't working and I can't seem to get on top of it.

Personally I'd say everyone needs 3 accounts to separate out the differenttypes of spending.

One, wages/pension/benefits go in and all direct debit and standing orders come out. This will likely also be where you keep your twelfths towards annual expenses like insurances, car mot, car servicing, dentist/glasses costs, holiday savings, Christmas food savings, christmas presents savings, birthday present savings etc etc.

Two, your day to day account with either a weekly or monthly standing order feeding it from the number one account. This pays for your shopping, petrol etc.

Three, is your own personal pocket money account for your own guilt free personal spending.

Up to each individual to categorise what goes under what.

We operate the same 3 accounts system, I find it really helps with clarity across the month with us having different pay days (DH end of month, mine on the 15th) and then the child benefit dropping in every 4 weeks.

Also like M0nzo for savings pots.

A lot of using up happening now I have sorted put the kitchen cupboard.

    Suncream used

Fabric stain remover tub had a little bit left and used up this morning.

Sorted some food that had gone out of date. Decluttered a magpie that had found its way into my conservatory. It comes in and steals the rabbit food. It has found itself caught in there a few times and hasn't seemed to learn its lesson.

Last night DD's scouts had a woodland walk, we went on that. She had been at school late to watch a performance but we made it. It is nice to get out with her in nature although I did get bit and horse flies thought they had a buffet.

    Tonight is horse riding.

Tomorrow I am visiting the wholesalers as I have another display booked in and I want to get the stock so I know I have it. Going to have a bank of stock as a just in case.

This weekend DD has both of her clubs and her dad's. I need to start studying again as I have been very lapse.

Both DD and I finish for summer next week. No holiday booked at the minute as I have a lot of work going on at the house and a week of back to back hospital appointments. I am hoping to get something booked in, but not putting pressure on myself. I am away the last weekend of August.

Hope everyone else is coping with the heat.

Closed another unused bank account yesterday, which took a lot of effort. They were obviously trying to stop me, but i get persevering and eventually got done last night after they escalated it. It was a crypto currency account. I had dabbled with it in the past but didn't like the messing of it and the way you needed to move money. Closed now anyway.

DD is at her club this morning and then at her dad's. I have some washing to do and her teachers end of year gifts to sort. I will post a picture later of them.

I am having boundary issues at the minute with the business. That is my creation and I need to sort it. I always want to help and always see how things are of benefit to me and justify others behaviour because I find a positive in it for me when in reality, I need to see that they are taking advantage. An example is when I tutor for less than my normal rate to people I know. I see it as them helping me by choosing me and not me helping them by charging them less than my time is worth. I need to change my mindset and that is happening slowly. I will not be selling or producing the balloons for any less than they cost. My other issue is that when someone I know starts a new venture, I always buy or support, I have noticed the same kindness is not reciprocated. I am not saying that they need to buy from me all the time, just giving my name out would also be appreciated. I have a lot to learn and change.

August is a busy month for me when it is usually my quietest. I am holding off launching properly until I can commit to it.

Finances are a little better this month. I am managing it a lot more. I just need to be consistent.
