Ah I wish I’d read your last reply, before replying… 2024 certainly was an awful and trying year for you. As I said in my previous reply, wishing you every good wish for 2025. We’ll be with you along the way xWillowtree222 said:Just been speaking to a family member about 2024.
We started Jan/Feb with two funerals
I was having tests for my stomach issues
I had my gall bladder removed in May
My cousin gets her cancer diagnosis at the same time and dies in July.
My dad has his knee replaced in August
My auntie has terminal cancer and after her daughters death, deteriorates quickly.
I fall on ice and damage my wrist in November, I can't drive.
She goes into the hospice in December
Two aunties die within 6 days just before Christmas.
 January 2025 - two funerals
14th Jan -first day back driving.
I've pretty much let 2024 get to me. I've not been focused on debt, savings, or decluttering and I really need to not let 2025 be like that.
I've made savings, but it's been because things are up, not because of much effort.
 I don't do resolutions,but I'm hoping to make 2025 much more focused.Mortgage (MFD 04/2053) (Jan 25) £238,983.71. Overpayment set to £200 per month. Current: £234,483.39
Car Balloon Payment £12,243.60, due Nov 25. Saved £12,243.60 (100%)!
 2025 goals:
 23 / 25 books
 7 / 24lbs lost
 £1000 / £1000 EF

And then there's the good things
I overpaid on debt most months
I found a balance between treats and paying things off
I saw the Northern lights in Iceland
I realised my car was a mistake and got a more economic car
I've made savings of over £200 a month
My extra job recognised my commitment and gave me more work and offered me more this year as well
I have lots of things booked in
I have two tutoring people for my business account
I learnt to play a brass instrument
I've found myself with an emergency fund
I've learnt to appreciate the smaller things more.
So many positives to reflect onSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

This has been a very big lesson this year. My cousin was 55 and my generation. Gone in 3 months and such a young age. Good to reflect on the positives after so many bad things happening. What a year you’ve had. Hopefully that’s it and this year will be a great one 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Fingers crossed. It was the second funeral today, so at least that's another emotional day done. I'm exhausted.
Will take a few days to recover and then see where I am.

I was right about the miscalculation and my emotional spending got the better of me.
Got a lot of spending damage to undo in the next few weeks.
Feeling very drained this week. Tired and wanting to sleep a lot. Think the months have finally caught up with me.
