Today I had lunch out with some friends and DD played with their children.

I set myself a goal of £5000 in savings and today I achieved that. The money from my friend came in today which took me to my amount.

I can’t remember the last time I had savings that are as much as this. Now I just need to build on it every month. It’s been so long since I’ve had anything like this. It’s two months earlier than planned as well.

I’ve got some vouchers coming in and the last of my summer marking money this week too. I’m owed £150 as well from someone. Hopefully they’ll pay this month. If not, it’s ok. I’m sure when it comes in it will be just when it’s needed. I know they’ll pay as soon as they can and I’m not in a rush for it.

I now enjoy having money in the bank rather than spending, which was the complete opposite of what I used to be like. I just like having a safety net now x

    Thank you both.
there have been times where I doubted saving £5 would be possible. I’m just glad I have it now before the prices go up so I know I’ve got something if I need it.

I’m hoping I can build on this x

Great news about the savings, good to have a buffer but I hope you don’t need to touch it.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

  • I’m going on holiday today. It’s only an hours drive away in a lodge overlooking a lake with a hot tub. I just need some time away so i’m looking forward to it.

DD got really excited last night when she learned my sister and nephew were coming. Neither of them have stopped talking about fishing! (I bought them both a rod and equipment).

We’ll then be going on days out when we get back. A big theme park trip has been planned too!

Lovely to hear some good news for once about your savings. It’s a comfort with what is going on with the cost of living that you have this money. Enjoy your holiday, hope you have a relaxing time with the family.xx
