All jobs done and I am about to start tackling the mountain of ironing!

DD's dad will be visiting her later. He has bought her some football things which will save me a fair bit of money so I am pleased with that.

Once the ironing is done, I can relax all afternoon. The weather is rainy here right now and looks like it will be like that all day.

Don’t beat yourself up about the ring, you deserve a treat and you love it as you said. You’ll soon absorb the cost.

Fantastic comments about DD, you must be so proud of her. She sounds like a lovely girl, all credit to you.

Leicester schools break up 2 weeks early and go back in August too.
I agree about Willow's daughter.  Sounds such a lovely girl and much of that's down to Willow I reckon as she sounds such a caring and generous person.

Your mention of Leicester schools reminded me of someone I used to know who was a teacher in Sheffield and had several bouts of time off during  the summer term  through what the GP said was 'exhaustion'. My niece who was Deputy Head there said they'd hardly seen here for the last half term. The ill teacher had also just got a teaching job in  Leicester because her husband had to relocate for his job and I wondered how she got on leaving her current job at the very end of July absolutely cream crackered and then about 3 weeks later or less having to start again in Leicester after having all the traumas and work involved in a long-distance house move too.  I think she said the difference in dates was something harking back to children being needed to help with the harvest long ago and unlikely to attend school.

Good that you treated yourself to something nice and if you'll enjoy wearing the ring and it gives you pleasure don't feel bad about it.

We had the mother of all thunderstorms last night during the England match. The rain was torrential.  I worried there'd be a power cut, there usually is during severe storms but there wasn't and I got to see the whole game without the telly going off.  Even DH watched it (on a different telly so I'm not sure if he flicked in and out of it) and he's no football fan as a rule. We enjoyed a bottle of my free prize wine so all in all a lovely evening.

I envy you your tip run.  Ours still needs appointments booking and DH has loads to take. We do miss just being able to go whenever we had enough to make it worthwhile going.  Now DH stores it all up (defeats the object of decluttering really LOL) until his car is practically groaning with the weight so he can take full advantage of a rare drop off appointment.  I'll see if I can organise one for him next week.

Thanks Fidelia, her own personality is absolutely most of it. She just didn’t know how to express it and that’s getting better now. I always felt she was emotional more mature than her brain could keep up with and she’s starting to be able to keep up with it now. She has the vocabulary to express those emotions.

I left at Christmas so didn’t benefit from the opposite side and have an 8 week holiday!

    How was your day?

The tip near me had a couple of cars this morning but was okay.

I did the shopping and picked up the uniform. DD had an hour out with her dad then she watched Luca on Disney followed by playing Disney monopoly. She hates losing and can get really upset.

She’s just gone to get ready for bed and I’m enjoying a juice before getting sorted for work tomorrow.

I did the ironing mountain and then did the even boring task of putting it away! I have enjoyed doing some cooking today though. I’ve cleaned up, put the dishwasher on and I’m all showered with my hair washed ready for school! I did declutter DD’s hangers whilst putting everything away. One less job to do in the summer. I’m going back to work having achieved a lot in the house. It was just having the energy at night after work that made it easy to do and set me up for the mammoth sort on Saturday.

I’ve only got two weeks and three days left. Then I get a lot of time to recoup my energy and start on the living room.

Have a lovely evening everyone. It’s gone sunny here now. Typical x

    Heya,

Hosp appointment didn’t go so well. I’ve been referred to a neurosurgeon. Just processing it at the minute so will update when I’m ready.

Paid the childminder today but doesn’t feel like it’s right so will work it out when I can. My head isn’t in it today.

I’ve only ended up £30 better off and that’s with DD out for a week when I should have paid another minder. She was off for two weeks. I’ve paid £180 to her when it’s normally £240 and she’s had two weeks off. Then I paid £30 to the back up one for her days. I was expecting at least £90 better off this month which is why I bought the uniform. This will put me in my overdraft more than I thought.
Bits sold will absorb some of this cost, but not the whole amount of it x

    Evening, all.

Hope you are all okay. A few bits sold and picked up from the selling so that is good as it is some money off my overdraft. I have some of my income arriving Saturday as well as some other bits selling this week. I sold something for £15 but they haven't paid, which is frustrating.

The ring arrived today and it is lovely. It fits okay too. That was one thing I was a little worried about but it is okay.

My tutoring has changed till Thursday now so I will be tutoring then instead of tonight. It does mean that I can get into bed and relax a little tonight. x
