Fidelia said:Great that your garden furniture has arrived and that you like it. You always make me feel inadequate when I hear how quickly you get things done. No hanging about just thinking about it for you, you got on and assembled the furniture in the blink of an eye. Pity about the second set but you have 2 options for it (keep for later or return) so shouldn't be too much of a nuisance, apart from the unexpected cost of buying 2 sets of course. I think it was that cargo ship that blocked the Suez canal a few weeks ago that caused all these nightmares with delayed garden furniture. Apparently there was a LOT of garden furniture stranded on there and many suppliers in UK were unable to fulfil orders. I know someone who'd been planning for new garden furniture and saved up for ages to afford it. Their old stuff went to the tip in readiness of the original expected delivery date as the swing sofa thingy had collapsed anyway! Their new items still haven't arrived and they've decided they don't really need it after all as their garden isn't very big. unlike yours, and looks so much better without any. They've been managing with a couple of folding, padded recliners that we never used and passed on to them (originally given to us by someone who's ALWAYS upgrading/keeping up with the Joneses LOL) and think they'll stick with them for this year at least and try to cancel their order. Your cancelling experience doesn't sound too good though so I hope they aren't too late to stop dispatch from the supplier.
Happy 'release' day when it comes. Can't be much longer now xx
Sorry I make you feel so inadequate. That is never my intention to anyone reading this. When something arrives there is only me to look to to get it done and if I am honest I absolutely hate building furniture so would rather get it done then sit around and wait for it to get done.
I heard about the garden furniture and there are more and more suppliers able to now get more in. I have pretty much nothing in the conservatory now so the temptation to keep it is there. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

We’ve always been earlier not sure why, I remember my school days early morning tv was still the news programs until Schools in England broke up and then we got the kids shows. I used to like tv show Why Don’t you, so had to video it when I returned to school and watch when got home. Oh god that seems like a lifetime ago now 🤣🤣 - setting the video recorder 🤣🤣2

Morning everyone,
Yesterday I managed to get the unit out of the room and down the stairs and then into the garage. It is a big storage unit with 16 boxes in it (I took the boxes out) so I really struggled but I got it done and it is now in the garage ready to be picked up. I hoovered out the spare room and started to sort some of the left over boxes. The short term plan is to condense the book shelf down today so that the remaining boxes can sit on there so they are stored somewhere and then moved DD's toys into the spare room so I can sort out her room. The alternative is to put her toys back in the conservatory as it is empty. It does make it a mess, but she doesn't really play with the upstairs and I would rather she got time to play with her toys than have a tidy conservatory. I guess I will decide as I am doing it. It does mean I have a busy day of decluttering and tidying and cleaning today with a lot sorting and then a visit to the tip tomorrow by the looks of it.
Her room just collects dust because of all the teddies and toys she has in there and she is like me and not good with dust. I would rather it be much less cluttered where she sleeps so this is why I am trying to minimise her clutter in her bedroom. I will absolutely be sorting and binning so much stuff though she has far too many things that are broken or she doesn't play with. I am also going to create a boot sale pile of things for when we can actually go to a boot sale and sell things again. Lots of her things are fine, they just need to be taken and sold. I keep putting them back though as they are okay and think I really need to separate them now and keep them in the loft ready for the boot sale I plan on doing at some point this year.
Some sale items ending tomorrow. Not many, just a handful. The big unit is early next week and that should fetch the most of my things listed.
I have a coaching call this morning with my mentor. She is helping me to make progress with my personal goals. I am looking forward to having a catch up with her as she always puts me on track with something!
The weather is raining today so great for the plants and garden and will mean I have to stay inside so hopefully will make a lot of progress today with regards to where I want the house to be.
Tonight I am hoping to watch the new Disney film with DD. Can't remember what it is called, but it is on Disney plus anyway. She's done amazing this week with work. It was her parents evening during the week and it was over zoom. She has a reading age two years older than her chronological age and her English scores were in the top band. All of the other things were at expected level. I said I didn't mind if she was below to her as long as she tried her best. The thing I am most proud of about her is that her teacher says she is a very kind hearted, caring, compassionate and generous soul with a love of animals. She actually thinks about others and has empathy as well. He said he wishes he had a lot more of her nature in the world as it would be a nicer place. That choked me up. I have always tried to instil kindness on her and being grateful. I know her personality is what it is and I have no control over most of it but I am just proud that she has displayed it appropriately.
First take is to thin out the book shelf. I have an hour before my call so might as well get a coffee and get started. This house will not sort itself out!
Will update later. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

I was about to post that I thought you might be in Scotland. I know Ireland finish earlier as well. I wonder why that happened. I am sure there will be some reason from long ago that was forgotten.
I also remember having to tape songs on the radio! Sat there pressing record and pause when they were speaking. I think record was always the play and record button together!

Well done to you and your daughter for parents evening. Such lovely comments from her teacher.
Southern Ireland have 3 months summer holidays. My sister used to be almost crying at the start of them (4 unruly children). They also have to provide all school stuff themselves which includes text books. It costs a lot of money.....2 -

Three months is a long time off. That is really difficult if you have four children. I can imagine paying for all the text books would be difficult with four as well. DD's clubs alone are expensive so I am not sure if I could do 4 lots of that. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
