Which ever of the jobs is going to hurt your back don't do that.
Do any of the jobs reaaaallly interest you? Any of them offer you a chance to really improve things? Anything you are passionate about?

Are you sure there’s not 4 days available of the part of the role you want to do?
I’m not sure about 4 days, I’ll have to ask if that’s a possibility but without the elements of my job I don’t like.September 2017 Debt = £25330

Upping the % of the job you enjoy might give a new lease of life to the job. Sounds like it would be worth exploring the possibility.2

Thank you everyone, and please feel free to keep adding.
3 days would be a struggle financially. I wouldn’t get benefits either. That doesn’t mean I can’t do something for the other two. I’d just need to make sure I was working one day a week elsewhere.
4 days would likely be exposing my back to risk and that’s not what I want.I’ve made significant changes since I last tried to do 4 days. I know I could manage on this pay.

What about doing 3 days a week in the role you want, then one day a week supply through an agency? I know there are no guarantees with agency work but it might give you some flexibility as well as extra cash?

I used to work as a full time teacher and reduced my days to 4 when I had my youngest child, which I did for a few years. Due to the complexities of juggling single parenthood of a large family, a difficult legal battle and teaching, I cut back to 3 days a week for a couple of years and have now gone back to full time. I found a 4 day a week salary just about ok ( bearing in mind my salary was having to cover lots of us). Cutting back to 3 days was tough financially and was one of the reasons I got a second job. Could you work 3 days a week within education and branch out with your art / craft interests as a self employed business? Or work 3 days a week as your main role and pick up supply for the remaining 2 days as and when you want the work?paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
