    • During the 2008 financial crisis and the Great Recession, the S&P 500 fell 46.13% from October 2007 to March 2009 but recovered all of its losses by March 2013.

Crashes are caused by something. Dodgy sub prime house loans, sky high evaluations, war, an oil crisis etc. Its impossible to predict ahead of time if any of these are going to happen and if the markets will actually crash because of them. I very much doubt rising interest rates and a bit of inflation on its own is going to be the cause of a crash bigger than 2008 when the worlds banks were all pretty close to failing.

Nothing has happened then, since, say, January 2020 which may cause a crash?

Technically the S&P is not in a crash at this time, it is still in a technical correction.

    Although it is very close.
