Ted_Hutchinson. Your link to ZIPVIT is incorrect (co.uk.)
Correct one is : https://www.zipvit.com.
I disagree about Healthspan being ethically challenged. It is their way of promoting the excellence of their products, while ZIPVIT challenge you to find cheaper !!"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -

It is obvious that Healthspan spend more on advertising as their catalogue is bigger, glossier and contains more codswallop than Zipvit.
It is obvious that Healtspan spend more on packaging as Zipvit minimise their's (while not discriminating against those who prefer larger containers)
Healthspans website is flashier and probably more expensive.
If you prefer codswallop, flash and presentation that's fine, you pay your money and make your choice, but there isn't one scintilla of hard evidence for their claims that their products are any more effective or better quality than the opposition.
When I see some independent scientific evidence which actually supports their claims then I may change my mind but I think if you read their claims and look for any substance in them you will be disappointed and simply demonstrate you are gullible.
Mind you I had the Goldshield catalogue in the post today and I think we ought to run a competition as to which Supplement provider provides the most outrageous codswallop. Goldshield are certainly in the running. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

BMJ LETTER extract......glucosamine-chondroitin as an off prescription preparation. Can anyone explain why it is usually recommended so, despite evidence of efficacy that is as good or better than most non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which cause a huge burden of morbidity and mortality)?,...........snip................
Most patients with osteoarthritis will qualify for free prescriptions and are in the age group with least income flexibility. Most do not need surgery but are still suffering. I understand that glucosamine is prescribable, but rheumatologists and general practitioners seem to advise patients to buy their own—why?
Unfortunately you have to pay for the full text of the article so unless someone has a subscription to BMJ we'll have to guess. But it does confirm the suggestion that you should ask to have them on prescription. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Ted - You certainly seem to have it in for Healthspan! How do you know that their products are NOT better than others ? And are you sure that Zipvit's are as good! We all have choices to make and having used both companies, I prefer Healthspan's products and service. You pays your money and takes your choice is never truer. But as this is a money saving site, then if you are confident in their products, obviously Zipvit are cheapest. But it is not by a great deal, especially if you use Healthspan's offers, one of which you have mentioned."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0

There are claims in their catalogue which don't ring true and which, when I have taken them up with ZIPVIT have been refuted. Firms which make generalised statements which scare the public into thinking other products have risks attached to them are in my view ethically challenged.
If they have independent tests which prove they are better than AB or C then they should publish the results. Healthspan saying Our L'Carnitine contains no D-Carnitine other cheaper products do worried me sufficiently to take the matter up with Zipvit and the assurances I recieved from Zipvit were satisfactory.
I am quite happy for folk to use the vouchers and the sale prices to get a good a product and service as they can. But I think you kid yourself if you think Healthspan's stuff is one iota better than Zipvit's and until I see some independent scientific test results which demonstrate that one is better than t'other I will continue to buy from the cheapest and will continue to consider that those politicians and advertisers, who have to resort to smear, slur and innuendo to win their point are ethically challenged. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Wonderwoman wrote:Don't forget that you can now get glucosamine on |prescription for £6.40 until 1 April when it becomes £6.50! Huryy!!
Wonderwoman, can you tell me if you get them on prescription or if you know someone who does? I told MIL to go to docs to see if doc will prescribe it, but she asked a chemist who says it's not available on prescription, so I just wanted to check.
Thanks (would you mind PM me the reply so I don't miss it, I don't get on here as often as I'd like).0 -
I have been buying health supplements for over 10 years via mail order and i have never dealt with a company like simply supplements. i have found they are cheaper than zipvit for most products. their glucosamine sulphate 1000mg is £8.89 for 360 tablets with free postage on internet orders. their cod liver oil 400mg is £2.99 for 360 capsules and their glucosamine sulphate 500mg and chondroitin 400mg is £16.99 for 360 tablets. (zipvit charge £21.75 for only 200 tablets) all of the above is cheaper with simply supplements. they also have a 'price match guarantee', so if you can find it anywhere else for less then they will match the price. and unbelievably they can also guarantee same day despatch! i will never be going elsewhere and i'd advise you to have a look on their website.
