Do not respond any further. Simply ignore.DGDG said:What would you do? I feel he isn’t going to give up2 -
I think you're under-stating the probability ... I would add 0.9% to thatAdrianC said:If he's actually going to launch a claim against you, he'll do it whatever you say or do.
Save yourself the interim blood pressure. 99% he's just sabre-rattling and hoping to scare you into coughing something up.
As per others ... block his number.Jenni x3 -
If he had any intention of launching a claim against you, he'd have done it months ago. Ignore him and move on.
You don't necessarily need to block him, just don't answer or reply to messages.

As discussed Ignore
1. He is a trader = Professional Buyer
2. He knew about the issue prior to sale and still went ahead.
3. He probably does this with every car he buys !.
4. He has probably already sold it / sour grapes as he cannot sell it for what he wanted !3 -
thanks everyone. The buyer messaged me a third and a fourth time today but I have yet to reply.
I am never ever selling a car ever again, I will have to drive my current one until it breaks down.

problem solved by trading it in, or selling to the likes of webuyanycarDGDG said:thanks everyone. The buyer messaged me a third and a fourth time today but I have yet to reply.

It costs nothing for him to continue hassling you on the phone, it would incur much more time and money for him to start legal action (especially if it's doomed to failure). And generally it would be prefaced by a letter before action, I doubt courts would be all that impressed if the earlier attempts were evidenced by failed phone calls/texts.DGDG said:If I block him, the next step would probably be legal action, which is what I am hoping to avoid. I was hoping this might be avoided if I don’t break contact1 -
Why are you even thinking of replying? Just block his number.DGDG said:thanks everyone. The buyer messaged me a third and a fourth time today but I have yet to reply.

Have you had a look to see if he still has it up for sale? You could always take a copy of that ad to use as evidence later, since he presumably hasn't mentioned the mileage discrepancy on there...
But still, just ignore him and he'll give up eventually.
