And just to reiterate, there is 100% nothing wrong with the mileage other than incorrect readings being reported with at least two of the previous MOT’s0

Just ignore it and block the number which it sounds like hasn't yet been doneRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.4

As per previous suggestions - block his number & don't respond1

Correct, I didn’t think to block his number as he said he was going to take it for a check of the mileage ages ago, and as I never heard anything further from him I assumed he was informed all was in order.Would never have thought he decided not to have it looked at, only to keep the car for an additional 6-7-8 weeks before getting back to me again.0

So is it best not to engage at all? Or should I message him to reiterate that he had all the info prior to the sale, and that we areunabl to assist any further or something long those lines?

Do I not risk something by blocking him… would do anything to avoid legal action, no matter how spurious a claim he would lodge against me. Can’t handle the stress right now even if it’s unlikely that he would win0

That’s exactly what I meant. If I block him, the next step would probably be legal action, which is what I am hoping to avoid. I was hoping this might be avoided if I don’t break contact

If he's actually going to launch a claim against you, he'll do it whatever you say or do.
Save yourself the interim blood pressure. 99% he's just sabre-rattling and hoping to scare you into coughing something up.2 -
Block his number and if he uses a different one to contact you then tell him that you are going to speak to the police as you feel he is harassing you. If he still continues to contact you then contact the police. Obviously should he launch legal proceedings you will need to respond to the court.Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.2
