    pineapple would only work if you ate hundreds of them in one sitting according to the midwife at ante natal classes

  • The history of being late says it all unfortunately but 21 days! I was late with all three and given an inducement date for each but never more than 10 days after due date.

    I sincerly hope something starts her off soon.

    TBH, if she's a history of "long" pregnancy then this one almost certainly will be too. No point in forcing 'em out 'till they're ready either, unless there's a really good reason.

    I think it's where the midwife manually does something to the membranes around the cervix to produce prostaglandins and bring on labour, isn't it?

    They stretch around (up there) to try and start things off. I had sweeps done as I refused to have a chemical induction, so it was that or nothing, or elective CS. Luckily it worked both times and I'll be trying it again with number four if it comes to that.
