    The cloning of plates is getting more and more common these days.

    As you now have a CCJ for this, then your only option is to apply for a set aside based on the fact the original ticket was not yours, as others have already recommended above.

    Normally it would also be advisable to report this to the police, and obtain a crime number, as well as the DVLA who can add a note to your file.

    You should gather whatever evidence you may have, you may want to try re-sizing those digital images, a quick look on Google brings up a variety of options for doing the job, without compromising quality, obviously it may require additional software, fee`s etc, but the results may be worth it, anyway, your choice.

    In the end, all you can do is put the matter before the court and plead your case.

    Also if you can prove your car was elsewhere at the time of the incident, obviously that would be helpful too.

    thank you for all the helpful advice given, just a quick question, which regional police will i report this to please, local to Registered keeper or location of PCN (50 miles away)?

    i have reported it to the Police and have received an incident number. I will now report it to DVLA. Then will continue with set aside route.
