As I said way earlier, if OP is coming back to the UK in the next 5 years (until November 2026) then they will have to deal with the CCJ and debt collectors. If not then there is no point trying to argue for a set aside on the CCJ

This is what it all boils down to in a nutshell, everything else is of no importance.

Your UK credit file is only relevant in the UK, if you don`t intend coming back in the next 5 years, then it just doesn't matter one bit.

Your UK credit history/score whatever you want to call it, is not used in any lending decision made abroad, you would simply start from scratch with no history whatsoever, you do not take your UK file with you, nor can it be referenced.

A return to the UK after 5 years would see your file cleared of all negative information, CCJ`s obtained by parking companies seldom see enforcement action, and certainly not after 6 years has passed.

Very interesting few posts indeed. Couple of answers to the points raised so far,
    * car was sold mid November 2019
    * just to reconfirm, i am fairly confident that pcn was not received in the timeframe between offence date of 18 aug 2019 and 6 Dec 2019 (date of leaving UK). I reviewed all the posts/letters received until the date of departure myself and dont recall any pcn, i take these things very seriously and any pcn received at the time, i would have paid regardless of the fault as i was set to leave UK for a few years
    * why wont i just pay and settle for *settled* status. Because my job in the ME is not permanent, its a yearly contract. Given the opportunity, i wont like to leave this job at least until 2024/25 or so but i could be in the UK by year end 2021 if the company decided that they don't need me anymore. Obviously it is a worst case scenario and i always plan for the worst like most people would. If i pay, the CCJ stays on my report for 6 years. This would affect my credit score, and it is the last thing i want when my target is to put a healthy deposit down for my first house upon my return to the UK, be it 2021 or 2024. So if someone tells me it isn't going to affect my score, i will pay today and close this matter out now.

Well, any company could decide they don't want you anymore and dump you, so that's not really important.  What's more important is what you intend to do.  If you were intending to come back next year, perhaps dealing with it would be sensible.  If you're not going to be coming back until around the point that it's due to drop off I'd be looking to settle or just plain ignore it.

Bear in mind that you still need a reason for getting it set aside and I'm not convinced you have one.
Company not wanting you translates into leaving the ME, not the same as back home in UK where you would find another job. As i said my intention is to not come back until i have saved a decent enough deposit.
So it all boils down to how this CCJ would affect my credit score until this stays on my file.
I'm well aware of what you meant by it but that's not my point.   There is no point in considering things outside your control.  What's important are the things that are inside your control, such as whether you want to carry on doing the job.

If you were planning on coming back next year then it might make sense to deal with it, if you're not planning on coming back for another 5, arguably not.

just in case if it is not clear from previous posts, the lending is going to be in the UK. As i mentioned, i am only overseas for a limited time and will return to the UK at some point, during when i will look to put a deposit down. That is when i suspect the credit score/history will be called in to question (which is my only worry on this whole matter).

Further down the forum is a motoring section. Within that is a section dedicating to parking tickets and court proceedings, theres also a lot of self-help guides to deal with the whole process.

That's where you're better off looking for help and guidance.

The OP has no information whatsoever regarding the origin of the CCJ though - hence why I suggested a SAR

    OP realistically has 2 options:

    1) Pay the CCJ
    2) Ignore and let it "time-out"

Anything else would frankly be a waste of money and time

It all depends on when they are planning on coming back to the UK

Not only i don't have the info on CCJ origin, i also am blind to the PCN itself. the customer service agent on CCJ helpline only gave me the date of parking offence, a rough location (doesn't clarify which street the contravention occured), PCN number and the car registration.

I have just checked the PCN details on the Civil enforcement website, the location of incident is around 50 miles away from our city of residence. There is no way the car in question was at the said location as my wife only drove the car locally.
The website for Civil enforcement limited only has text based information (i.e. time, car park etc.),  however there are no images attached, is it worth requesting them to supply?

Ask the court to send you a copy of the papers, then you will have details of where it allegedly took place and enough information to help to try and set it aside.

    This is all largely irrelevant.

The cost of trying to get this set aside will be significant and you didn't respond to any of the letters they sent, and I bet they did send one or two.

i think you have missed few posts that i made above on the timelines.
There was no PCN received in the post between the date of offence (18/08/19) and date of leaving UK (06/12/19).
Moreover i can confirm there were no court letters issued in the said duration either.
