 Can't believe I'm posting this, but never mind!! I wonder if anyone has had flat or inverted nipples and used Avent Niplette? Apparently this is suppose to be really good but costs £30 so don't want to try it if it's a waste of time.

The cheapest I've seen is on ebay BIN £14.99 with £5 odd shipping.

    Any experience much appreciated! :j

I can't help with the Niplette question, but didn't want you to feel all alone so I've come to tell you I too have flat nipples :o When I had my daughter 16 years ago she couldn't latch on atall and the midwives were very anti-shields at the time so I reluctantly gave up after a few days. When my son arrived 10 years ago I decided for myself that using nipple shields to assist with feeding was better than not being able to feed him myself atall, so that's what I did. Whatever this Niplette thing is - I say give it a go :D

  • I can't help with the Niplette question but I have flat nipples but went on to breasfeed my Lo for nearly 16 months. I was told (and it was right for me) that a sucking baby will bring your nipple out enough for the baby to feed

    Good luck

I bought a new one second hand at an nct sale - in a package along with the breast pump that I actually wanted. I gave it to my community midwife as I thought she'd know a good home for it - apparently they use them in our local hospital to help bf mothers.

I know a way of bringing the nipples out permanently (but may not work with breast feeding, haven't done any research on that) - nipple piercings. Works very well!

Hi - I used the niplette. Didn't work at all for me. I got an inverted nipple with DD after bfing her (no idea why) but DS was still able to bf - I used shields due to really badly cracked an dbleeding nipples, but once that was sorted, DS was able to feed fine.

If anyone else clicks on this thread thinking it may be about what causes nipples to change shape and suddely become flat or inverted there is a useful You Tube Breast self examination here with Dr Chris Steele, and model.

Thanks for all the replies!! Nipple piercings?!!? Ummmmmm NO!! Can we say OUCH! LOL.

It's really just for my own confidence, I've had these kinda nipples since I started developing and now I've heard nipplette can rectify the problem, but before shelling out £20 thought I'd see if anyone has used them!

Will just go for it! Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Just thought I'd mention in boots sale yesterday they had a load of what looked like the chicco equivalent of this product for just a few pounds. Its not showing on their site so only in store, but this is the product http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Chicco-Nipple-Corrector-includes-carry-case_W0QQitemZ280132155099QQcmdZViewItem
