Gaps on shelves in our two nearest Lidl branches over the last few months too.
Had trouble finding cheap boxes of tissues anywhere ... used to get them at Lidl or Morrison's for 80p, neither had them last shop, ended up buying in Asda. Tesco seem to have stopped selling them and Aldi don't offer a cheap box either.
Lidl Freshona tinned chickpeas, butter beans and kidney beans are nice quality compared to Aldi or Tesco own brand imo. Aldi's Actileaf oat milk is 4p dearer than Lidl's equivalent but seems more creamy so lasts longer.

I bought a couple of boxes last week from Lidl for 99p I think. They were for someone else, I use a roll of TP for myself.

1kg of porridge down 5p to 70p in Aldi.  Mint sauce was also lower in price.  Nice to see a couple of reductions!

I like Lidl's generic Cornettos, original flavour. Creamy tasting and not too sweet.

OH got some nice ones from Aldi that have a liquid chocolate centre.  Very nice.  Otherwise I'm a big fan of either stores' mini "magnums".  Any of them except the white chocolate - which are OH's fav so that's ok.

I love the mint choc cones from Lidl. Bloody lovely. The mivvies (dunno what they call them - fruit ices?) are decent in a pinch, and the rocket lollies are more than acceptable when I’m being good. Especially when washed down with a mint choc cone as a treat for being good!

Ice cream is definitely a strength for L & A.   I quite like the very simple Ice Cream wafers - the ones with half chocolate covering and half wafer.   £1.35 for 8 bars - so 17p each.    They seem to have dropped off the radar at my local Lidl, but they still have them at Aldi.

The Tesco stuff described as Aldi Price Matched is even worse, nothing like the Aldi equivalent, and where Aldi is Class 1, Tesco will be Class 2.

Just to keep this vaguely on topic, I now consider the concentrated apple & blackcurrant squash from Lidl & Aldi to be the height of luxury.

I just wish there was some way of 'exposing' Tesco for their tactics. (I'd like to word it more strongly, but the MSE legal team would probably object) I've left a review, which will probably not get aired, and I'm wasting a little time sending them some feedback, but the terms of the price match are so vague that Tesco could probably try & sell a lump of coal for £5000, and price match it against a diamond!

I decided to compare the ingredients.
    Aldi Apple & Blackcurrant: 18% apple juice, 2% blackcurrant juice. (1.5litre 89p)
    Tesco Apple & Blackcurrant: 5% apple juice, 1% blackcurrant juice. (750ml 45p)

The Aldi vegetarian frozen foods are now properly re-stocked in my branch.

I tried the latest version of the Veggie non-Meatballs, and they are very good.   Also really good VFM compared to a lot of similar products (£1.15 for about 12 of them (304g), now packed in a plastic bag).
