Aldi have their Mexican range back on. I swear their spice packets are made in the the same factory as Old El Paso, as the Smokey BBQ tastes exactly the same (but half the price).

Aldi also have some limited-edition summer sauces (Jalapeno / Buffalo / Siracha) and also some Subway-knockoff sandwich sauces (Sweet onion / Marinara).

I love buffalo sauce with fried / baked chicken, but it's not that easy to find in shops, so great to see some. Also thinking of a use for the marinara sauce. Might try making a Pizza Sub (Subway sold that item years ago, but have since removed them from the menu).

Own brand Weetabix - I think Lidls Bixies are much better than Aldis Wheat Biscuits.
Same for Lidls Malties (Shreddies) they beat Aldi
I can’t tell any difference between Bixies and Weetabix.

Me too. The Aldi ones though are more crumbly and the flakes are bigger. Often not fully formed Into the biscuit shape.

I thought I would share just how hopeless my Lidl "wins" are:

I had all of those too.

But I also got a voucher for a free Condiment.   I thought it might a dozen or so products - ketchup, brown sauce, mayo, salt and pepper, but when I checked there were probably 80 items.   I picked up a tub of Crispy Onions, which I'd never even seen before and they are really good.

I've been seeing a weird thing with Aldi recently where new products arrive and promptly disappear from the shelves after a few weeks never to return.

My Aldi branches are close to the distribution centre, so I wonder if they trial new products here for that reason?

No own brand Red Label teabags in my local Aldi this morning, just a few brand name ones at twice the price😳, I'm down to one vacuum pack unopened so just over 40 more cuppas or 10 days supply left...

Hmmm....  I've had a spate of offers for various forms of chips, which I never buy.

I guess that even within the data, there's a balance between giving vouchers on things that you often buy and things that you might need encouragement to buy for the first time.

There is the £50 bonus level which is fresh Veg.
Playing devils advocate why would they give you discount on things you already buy.  The marketing ploy is to get you to buy other items and something off my tempt you?

Presumably to get you into the store with the lure of a discount on something you are likely to buy (but not necessarily in Lidl)?

It's a big bold move from Lidl, and presumably they know it works because they have improved it over time.   But there are all sorts of different customers with different shopping styles.   On my last venture into Lidl I only got 3 items, but 2 of them were free with vouchers...
