The multipacks of little choc bars are in Lidl now. I can’t remember who asked but here you are -

When I was a child, my mother ate Cadbury's Bournville which was what was accepted as dark chocolate.

Over the years, my tastes have become less and less sweet. I now find 70% cocoa is just what I enjoy for a chocolate hit and I only have a minimal amount.

I tried a bar of Bournville a few years back and it was disgustingly sweet to my current tastes.

So you can see why I'm disappointed that the high cocoa content bars have disappeared from Aldi. I'll be buying from Lidl while it lasts. 🤞
I can just about tolerate Bourneville. The rate I'm going I shall be 80 and gummy before I appreciate 70% :D

ETA: had another nibble of this and it remains unpalatable. It's only fit for dilution in some capacity!

Strangely enough, after repeated exposure to the smallest amounts over the past week or so I am getting used to it. I cannot say that I love it but I don't find it quite as objectionable now. Have persisted on your recommendation @Brie.

    That's interesting @Rosa_Damascena

It's a totally different experience to eating milk chocolate. I find just a couple of squares is enough for that chocolate hit.

The 5x25g packs of 70% cocoa have now completely disappeared from Aldi, even the shelf labels are gone. I've bought in Lidl's 125g bars and will get more, if I can, later in the week.

In my Aldi yesterday they were trying to get rid of the square jars of xmas sauces - cranberry/cranberry+port etc. 49p

Has anyone noticed how British onions are getting smaller and smaller? Its been like this for many weeks in Aldi and Lidl. Not sure about other supermarkets as I don't go. Some are the size of golf balls. Is it a regional issue? I'm based in Manchester.

No @fdama, it's the same down here in the South.

Instead, I've been buying the loose onions in Sainsburys which are price matched to Aldi and a decent size.

I do the same with broccoli and carrots.

I rarely use Lidl, but Aldi I use at least twice a week, and in my view their fresh fruit n veg quality has gone down a long way in the last couple of years.

One of the things that really annoys me is how, because of the opaque packaging, it is almost impossible to properly visually check items like potatoes and carrots, apples and pears for freshness.
