Good and Bad Buys at Lidl and Aldi stores (***Please don't expire***)

A rare bad buy from Aldi - their 'Specially Selected' ready salted crisps. Making crisps isn't the greatest culinary challenge, so I can only assume that the reason for the inferior taste is the oil they are using - presumably a high proportion of that horrible rapeseed oil. They may be more expensive but there are much better alternatives available, even among other supermarket 'own brand' offerings.0

This week's Aldi bargains:
-Baxters Mayonnaise - 32p for 300g (reduced to clear as of last week, so keep an eye out in your local stores, as they might have stray jars left over).
-Brewdog Punk IPA - £1.25 per can
-Bullseye New York Steakhouse sauce - now £1.75 (other supermarkets are £2.50 - £3.00)

I bought some mini-roses from Lidl a couple of months ago - not overly keen on small ones but couldn't resist the colours. They are not large, but neither are they mini, they are a good size:

Has anyone found that the Lidl app has "un"activated a voucher? I could have sworn that I have activated some. Seen them show as activated on my phone. And then when I get to the checkout I don't get the discount. Happened today with a jar of salsa (voucher to get it for zero) which I noticed when I was about to pay was still showing the normal price. I asked the cashier who asked if the voucher had been activated and when I checked it wasn't. Not a problem in that I activated it, rebeeped my phone and got the money off. But that only happened as I looked for it on the price listing at the till prior to paying. Maybe the vouchers are turned off if you don't use them within a couple of days???I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. When I've had Lidl vouchers not work it's mostly been because the item has been the wrong variant of a product, where the voucher was specific to a different variant.
That's kind of unnecessarily annoying, I would have thought, especially when the shelves are sometimes so messy that it takes detective work to be sure which product number is which.2 -
So pleased was I with my roses I bought some more, for £2.49 each. I am looking forward to a riot of colour come next May!

I notice Aldi has a new bowl mixer available, ahs anyone tried it / would you recommend?:
At £150 I am guessing it is the closest we will get to a Kitchen Aid "me too" - except this is 100W and the KitchenAid is 300W. 3 times the price but also 3 times the power! No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Strange how lidl don't de-alarm power tools when you buy them. Walked out the door and the alarm went off like i'd robbed a bank!
