Fajita kits have risen 60% from £1.25 last year to £1.99 now. Mental when the separate things probably cost less to buy now. Fake Percy pigs also up another 20p to £1.39.

Same here - HP. I can't think of another branded anything I've got in the house. But we only use maybe one bottle a year so I don't mind paying for it. We did try Branston brown sauce but it wasn't very nice at all.

Actually there is another branded thing - I occasionally buy those giant crumpets when I see them (Warburtons?) cos they're lovely smothered in scrambled eggs. Yum  :)

I was in Lidl today and HP was  £3.49p

Even Mr L stopped in his tracks !!!

Batts for 85p it is forevermore

Another thing I won't compromise on is granola.
I found Dorset Cereals dark chocolate curls with cherries and nuts in a 'end of line' freezer shop (now closed) and loved it.
I've tried lots of other cereals from different supermarkets but none come near.
So I buy the one I like. It's not something I eat every day - I have various cereals from Aldi - so to me it's worth it.

Funnily enough, Dorset Cereals make, or at least used to make, the Lidl Deluxe muesli in the blue and green bags. Best muesli we found anywhere, and, oddly, better than any of the Dorset Cereals mueslis - a better specification of fruit and nuts.

Fans of the Aldi Deluxe muesli here too but wouldn't suit chocolate lovers.

I saw some Jaffa choc hot cross buns in Aldi the other day, just tried them now. They’re v good, can recommend. Not as a light and fluffy as Marks’ but most acceptable with a slather of orange whisky marmalade and a good cut of cheese. Yum 🤤

We used to nip over to France every other Saturday. I refuse to have a !!!!!! black British passport now so use French Click (which has gizzards) and Bonnebouffe in Ashford.

good to know!  I was looking at jobs at DC and was thinking about how to answer a question about their products.  I assumed they'd ask "which of ours do you buy?" and I'd have to say I don't because I like the Lidl nutty muesli.  And I like it as it doesn't have fruit in it.  There's a DC one that's labelled as nutty but when you look at the ingredients you see that there's the dreadful standard raisins/sultanas.  I don't mind a company putting fruit in a muesli (not that I'd buy it) but I hate that they don't label them properly.  Like the ones that say they are an apple muesli but there's raisins/sultanas at the top of the list and apples way down towards the bottom.

Sorry rant over....and I never got to an interview with DC so haven't had to answer any awkward questions.
