Although, like @pumpkin89, I'm also in the South East my area has every supermarket including Aldi and Lidl so I have choice.

My visits to Sainsburys are very much Route 1: From the YS fruit and veg to the YS meat and fish and then quickly, on occasion to the herbs and spices, across to the grapefruit squash and cherry juice and then to the checkout! 🤣

Just settling down to enjoy a cuppa with Moser Roth 70%. 😋
  • I absolutely adore the smell of the 'Fresh Lime' shower gel available in Lidl at the moment. To me it is a 'dupe' of The Body Shop 'Green Olive' shower gel. It's got a really nice thick texture (just like the body shop one used to have) ,so it lasts for ages. There is an extra large 500ml bottle available on the shelves alongside the smaller standard size at the moment, it's amazing value at only 55p,much,much cheaper than the one from the body shop. I tried to find a photo of the large 500 ml bottle but I couldn't find a single one!

Ooh Lidl have finally got ginger ale in the mixers!

Also they have some jarred candles - similar size to the Yankee Candle middle size- think they were around £3.50. Smells were passion fruit n something, cotton, lemon and spring herbs.

Unsure how long the smell lasts.

Aldi have a steel fire pit (not the one with the tripod as well) for £30 & a lot of outdoors enthusiasts are snaffling them. This one is particularly hefty - youngest did the lugging - but it got the family (masked) into society so it gets my vote!

I think modern society is rapidly waking up to the benefit of the great outdoors!

If it hasn't been mentioned already - for those with Nespresso type coffee machines I heartily recommend the pods sold at Lidl.  I'm particularly fond of the Ristretto ones, OH has the Viola and MIL is served the Lungo.  No complaints from anyone.

The Dolce Gusto compatible pods are also good (at Lidl, not tried the Aldi ones).

I tried the little "Squirty Squash" from Aldi whilst "on the road", and they are quite impressive.   I suppose they are a bit more expensive drink-for-drink than the normal squash, but certainly the Blackcurrant one is a better flavour IMO than the usual 1.5L size.    Very convenient, too.

    £1.09 makes 20 drinks.

I've not tried the Robinsons version, so don't know how they compare.

The Aldi Nespresso aren't a patch on the Lidl ones.  Too many fail to work but not as bad as the ones from Sainsburys!

    New products at Aldi...

    - Fruit Fusions (similar to Robinson's Fruit Creations).   Flavours:  Strawberry & Watermelon, Orange & Mango, and Peach & Raspberry.

    - Fibre Now Popcorn Bars (similar to Fibre One Popcorn bars).   Spotted in Scottish Aldi, not seen in SE England yet.
