    Went into Aldi yesterday
4 seasonal item varieties left: few mince pies, few stollen, lots of stollen bites and loads of chocolate santas. All 29 pence each. Will try to remember that it happens on a Thursday!

    Regarding olive oil
It should be in a glass  bottle or can.
I went on a tour of  an olive   farm in Corfu last year- fascinating
Anyway olive oil starts to degrade as soon as it gets into plastic (and possibly absorbs toxins from the plastic)
The best oo is virgin, cold pressed with the variety/ grower named. Yes , and that stuff costs a fortune!!
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Nothing except mince pies the standard ones not ss in aldi, nothing in lidl either by about 8th Jan. I must have been too slow. However have been trawling Asda, tesco, waitrose, aldi, lidl for mincemeat, cannot find any sign of it even full price, or any other Chrismas stuff, looking since new year. Did I miss it all just after Xmas or have their stock ordering systems improved? Very puzzled as last year got loads of stuff.

I tried the same for mincemeat, asked in Sains if they had any left and told they run out before Christmas. Managed to get a large jar in Lidl only place I found and that was on the 30th. with no discount.
Did get some more mini Christmas puddings (15) at 25% off, same discount as before Christmas. Also £1 of their £2.99 stollen which I would have paid full price for.

Aldi have their usual January stock of Gullon no added sugar biscuits.   99p each, and displayed in a brand-specific shelf unit.

I like the Oat variety, although the pack picture is possibly not the most accurate (they are not like Hob-nobs at all).
I usually get them from Home Bargains..the shortbread ones are really nice

£5.39 finest Olive Oil in Aldi. Get down there now!
    Size is everything. 250ml / 500ml / 750ml / 1L?
    500ml at a guess.
Thanks, this makes it £1.20/L less expensive that the EVOO Lidl is selling atm (£8.99 for 750ml, I made a point of looking yesterday).

Next week is Greek week at Lidl so there may well be other olive oil offers.
I get our extra virgin olive oil from M & S. It’s only £8.50 for 1L and it’s in a dark green glass bottle. It’s excellent value.

Aldi have removed the zip lock on grated cheese- generally in favour of plastic reduction but this is less convenient for keeping grated cheese in freezer for baking as & when. Tape never lasts, am seeing how the bag clips cope.

I also picked up some salt & vinegar rice cakes after not buying for a while, texture is absolutely dreadful bitty, bumpy & hard.

Will probably try one more pack in future in case it was a poor quality batch.

I've never found the zip lock particularly effective but bag clip works fine.
