Thanks for the heads up but as far as I'm concerned they can stay there.  Chocolate and fruit is a horrid combination in my opinion.  Not like chocolate and coffee....mmmmmmmm.
The best combo is chocolate & more chocolate :D

  • I love cherry liqueurs, well all the fruity alcoholy choc nonsense really. But these are good.
    Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.
  • @YoungBlueEyes, it was me who said 10 days ago the cherry liqueurs were not in Lidl. Thinking about it, I don't think I saw them in Lidl last year either.
I have since got them in Aldi, so now have plenty of cherry liqueurs and coffee creams.

Lidl did finally get the cherry liqueurs (sorry @Brie) 165grams for £1.89, same amount of chocs as Aldi but weight for weight is just a little more than Aldi 225grams for £2.49

I know this thread is about Lidl and Aldi but I see the cheap veg page on MSE has not included broccoli *15p at Tesco. *Update, this has now been added.

Did anyone else see the live segment on This Morning yesterday about getting Christmas shopping cheaper?
I found a couple of things wrong with it considering she was supposedly telling people about cheaper shopping.
The presenter was in an Aldi store (though she wasn't only commenting on Aldi).
She didn't mention the cheap veg but said frozen veg is often cheaper than fresh.
She gave out the price of Co-op beef at 7.50 a kilo or 6.50 with a Co-op card. Aldi & Lidl are 4.95.

Broccoli is reduced in Aldi to 49 pence&  caulis to 79 pence
Their cheap veg are 15 pence.
I got a huge white cabbage for that- will make coleslaw for ... ever.

had to snigger I could buy their 'finest' or whatever spiced red cabbage for £2.49 (no idea of the amount!) or I could buy a raw red cabbage for 15 pence. No competition.
