...and deliver it by camel. The only way in which your case is different is that in my view, it's so easy to win. Follow the newbies, see if they are stupid enough to start a court claim against someone who didn't own the car and never parked it and then come back if they do. If they send you a "Letter before claim" you need to respond, otherwise, ignore debt collector letters.D_P_Dance said:Of course you should complain to your MP, copying to DVLA. My preference would be to write to him on your best writing paper.

Your case is indeed different. It is much easier to win. You are in the enviable position of doing the PPC considerable damage, use it.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

May I refer you back to the advice I gave you this morning, including where to find a list of acronyms and abbreviations.

You should also make a strong complain to the BPA that one of their members has conned a vulnerable adult out of money you did not owe, and are refusing to update their records concerning the registered keeper details, and are demanding more money with menaces for a car you have already proved you were no longer the keeper at the time of the alleged events.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Of course you should want your money back. £160 is not to be sniffed at. It is alot of money.
The parking charge is not yours and the car is not yours anymore.
Its time to get constructively angry at these people.
Focus your anger at the parking company and give them as much hassle and grief as they have given you.
There is no way you should let them get away with extorting money from someone who was not in any way responsible for the parking infraction.
Write to them and write to your MP. Say exactly what you have told us. You sold your car on x date.
You have received parking charges from x company and because they were bullying you, you paid £160 of money you do not have to get them to stop harassing you. Now they want more, and you have done nothing wrong.
Your MP should be behind you all the way on this.
The newbies thread sets out a plan of action.
Follow its directions. The cases may be different but the process is the same.
Do not give these people another penny without fighting in the courts, and take them for everything you can get. They should not have taken money from you, and should not be asking for more. You are not a cash cow, or their bank.

OK, I spoke with one solicitor and she asked me if I have any proof o sale. Because to be honest I could call DVLA and give them any date, they are not checking that, they just updating the record. And another thing is that I don't know the address of the new owner just his name. So when I complain to DVLA that they still sharing my details they said that I can not complain about that because I am the last known owner.0

STOP TALKING TO THEM! Why do you have to prove this? If you are telling the truth then you have nothing to worry about. The only reason they are persuing you is because you've already been stupid enough to pay up so they see you as an easy target (respectfully, in their view). Get a grip and stop ignoring the advice on here. Claim your money back and stop being a victim.

You need to prove nothing. If this goes to court a judge will decide, OTBOP, whether you are telling the truth or not. Do you not want a refund. Do you not want to get your own back?. Do you not want to stop this company scamming others? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Was the car sale via cheque or bank transfer, if so you should have a trail via your bank statements. Or was it a wad for your back pocket? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

tbh you could probably dig out a million pieces of evidence to prove you didn't have the car, didn't park there, were never there, were somewhere else, cancelled insurance, reclaimed tax, pictures of you on your phone at the other end of the country.... messages on your phone saying you've sold your car.... But why go to all that hassle at this stage?{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature, it's probably Gladstones}3

The one other thing you should stop doing is believing or taking the word of scummy debt collectors as if they are an authority. Anyone can set up a debt collecting firm, they are just nasty greedy scammers that want money, they are not bothered who they get it from as long as they get it against the job they have been given.Yes you did make a hash of selling the car, and the problem seems to be that you never got the address of the new owner but you say you sent in the V5C documents, what on earth did you put in the details if you only had a name? The document change of ownership part clearly asks for a date of sale name and address, the other part is given to the buyer to send off. If the DVLA never got the original (which would have been worthless anyway without an address) maybe you need to get a duplicate and start again, because they obviously still have you down as the keeper how could they have anyone else if the details were never received? If the DVLA HAD received it incomplete they should have returned it.2
