Parking ticket after car was sold.

Hi everyone, hope you can help me.
I sold my car in October last year, on the same date I sent V5C with all the driver details. After few months I started to get parking tickets from December, January, and so on. I contacted DVLA and found out that they didn't receive anything so I informed them that I sold the car in October 2020 and they update it in their system. And then I informed Trace company about that but they refusing to ask DVLA again. They want proof of sale which I don't have. What do I suppose to do right now? Please help, I am afraid that even if I paid them now I will get more and more tickets.

Personally, I would tell them to go forth and multiply. After all they are hardly likely to win a court claim for breach of contract.
If they did take you to court fyou would be in a good position to win a counterclaim for harassment.

I already pay one ticket from them because they basically blackmailing me, they suggest that if I don't pay I will have to pay "additional administration costs, all solicitor and court fees and statutory interest" so I thought I will pay that 160 and don't worry about them anymore but now get another one. And don't know what to do.0

What you you mean by basically? If they blackmailed you complain to the police. You MUST read the newbies, and follow our advice to the letter, these companies ruin lives. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
I'd ask them for the money back...... they have no right whatsoever. I'd imagine you could take THEM to court if they don't pay up.{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature, it's probably Gladstones}2

Yes D_P_Dance, but all the phone conversations are recorded by them and obviously, they are very nice and polite so it doesn't sound like blackmail. But practically they are saying that if I don't pay them now I will pay much more, later in court.

I'm sorry to hear of your predicament. There's an MSE guide that might be helpful - it hasn't been updated in a while but a lot of it will be unchanged:
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/parking-ticket-appeals/
But it sounds like it might be more useful for you to call Citizens Advice who will hopefully be able to give more tailored suggestions:

Please keep us updated.

That's terrible advice from MSE Laura F. No offence meant but the "official" MSE advice is out of date and gives incorrect advice that could cost you money.
The regulars on this forum have tried and tried to get it wiped off the face of the earth, but MSE Towers won't listen.
As for CAB, they may be good at some things but are truly dreadful when it comes to the unregulated parking industry.
Follow the advice on this forum, especially the information from the sticky threads. They are all up to date and probably provide the best information available on the internet.
You should not have paid the scammers. It will be very difficult now to get your money back. Complain to them with proof from the DVLA that you were no longer the registered keeper at the time of the alleged events.
Ask for you money back stating that you paid under duress, even though you deny the debt. I doubt they will comply. You may have to issue them with a court claim to recover your money.
Instruct them to cease and desist their demands for further payment, again with proof you were no longer the keeper.
Send an SAR to the DPO of the scammers to flush out all the NTKs then respond to each one separately, again with the DVLA proof you were not the keeper at the times of the alleged events.
Acronyms and abbreviations common to the parking forum can be found in the NEWBIES thread, which is essential reading.
Do complain to your MP, and most important of all, complain to the landowner about this scam.

They are lying. If they take you to court and you have followed our advice, you have a very good chance of beating them, but it is not a walk in the park. You will have to do a lot f reading and writing. TThere is no silver bullet.
Stop telephoning, the will try to trap you into incriminating yourself. They are not nice people, they are evil..
Next read the newbies several times and then seek clarification for anything you do not understand These people take you to court where you will be against a barrister who does this sort of thing on a daily basis.
Personally I would avoid CAB, they are good on benefits and credit card debt but know little about private parking law.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
It should be a simple case of telling then you had sold the vehicle and were not the driver.
As to getting your money back, do you know the location of the car parks where the vehicle was?
